IMPELLITTERI will release its long-awaited new album, "Wicked Maiden", in Japan on January 21, 2009 via Victor Entertainment. The CD, which reunites mainman Chris Impellitteri with longtime lead vocalist and writing collaborator Rob Rock, is "IMPELLITTERI's metal masterpiece," according to a press release. The band — featuring Impellitteri, Rock, bassist James Pulli and drummer Brandon Wild — "challenged the boundaries of conventional metal by utilizing music theory, technique, innovation, technology, and creative story telling. The result is an intense guitar driven metal album that will satisfy the appetite of any true metal fan. 'Wicked Maiden' features memorable guitar riffs, fast shredding guitar solos, amazing screaming vocals, exciting lyrical content, and a mean heavy rhythm section."
"Wicked Maiden" took three years to complete from the writing through the mixing and mastering. Engineer and co-producer Greg Reely worked tirelessly to create a sonic freight train.
Commented Rock: "The record is pure metal with screaming vocals, shredding guitar solos, killer rhythm section, and a fat production. I am sure that all the fans of the classic Rob and Chris Impellitteri albums will be very pleased with our new release."
"Wicked Maiden" is "by far the most amazing recording I have been involved with," according to IMPELLITTERI mainman/guitarist Chris Impellitteri. "It is filled with amazing riffs, fast shredding solos, screaming vocals, and, of course, a brutal rhythm section."
He added, "The goal of this record was to make a historic album that will rival 'Van Halen 1', OZZY's 'Blizzard of Oz', PANTERA's 'Cowboys from Hell', YNGWIE's 'Rising Force', METALLICA's 'Master of Puppets', and even new artists like CHILDREN OF BODOM and AVENGED SEVENFOLD."
The track listing for the CD is as follows:
01. Wicked Maiden
02. Last Of A Dying Breed
03. Destruction
04. Garden Of Eden
05. The Vision
06. Eyes Of An Angel
07. No More School
08. Wonderful Life
09. Holy Man
10. Battle Rages

Hitto, eikö meillä muka ollut näin kuninkaalliselle bändille omaa topicia? No kuitenkin, saamme kuulla Heimania kohta lisää, mikä aina hyväksi:tsorl wrote:Wojtek Lisickin mietteitä.
Ja tässä on parhaat palat:When Heiman left LOST HORIZON, how much do you feel that affected the progress of the band?
Well, in one way not at all, in other a lot. Daniel's presence is not needed for making songs just as good as they were so far, but the time has shown that from the practical point of view there is probably no LOST HORIZON without Daniel. In theory there is, as there are a lot of great known singers in the world, who could do a good job, but they are just or mostly theoretical options. There are some main and some smaller reasons for both poles, which I won't include here. Although, worth mentioning about all those known singers around the world, is that during those three years of Daniel's absence none of these conceited dickheads has voluntarily shown interest in singer position of LOST HORIZON (not including the great number of contributions sent from a lot of different unknown singers from the whole world). It has proofed once again - for us and for those who always claimed that and knew it - that this is a scene/forum consisting mostly of primitive and superficial low lifes, with no depth and definitely no insight of what and who are of value. Their content-less and gigantically boring bands are the perfect arenas for those hollow cave troglodytes to flourish and hide behind. Fuck off.
Would you be opposed to Heiman possibly rejoining, or contributing vocals to the band again?
I would not. I am not seeing everything like I did before. Many of things that were important to me some years ago are not anymore, or I just gave them up. I have realized that some of them are fighting of windmills, or simply not worth energy loss when it comes to the bigger part of the forum it's received by, nor even closely adequate to the dividend. Nowadays it's more or less enough for me when people do their work professionally and are not respectless or pissing off (not talking about Daniel here at all, just general and meaning all areas in life). I don't expect dedication from anyone.
Eikun sampleja testaamaan. Lookki ei oikein vakuuta, mikä juttu tuon lätsän kanssa oikein on... hmm. ainakaan ekan pätkän perusteella ei todellakaan nyt "karju panteramaisesti" kuten HEED:in kohdalla jotkut (perusteettoman) julmasti syyttelivät.LAVETT, an uncompromising Swedish five-piece consisting of musicians who have spent the last ten years making albums and touring with such acts as DARK TRANQUILLITY, LOST HORIZON, BESEECH, TWDSO (THOSE WE DON'T SPEAK OF) and SUNDOWN/CEMETARY, will release a digital EP, "When The World Caves In", in March through iTunes, Amazon, Napster, eMusic, Klicktrack, CDON and other well-known digital music services.
According to a press release, LAVETT's sound is "a perfect blend of their musical ideals. Taking the listener from beautiful landscapes of melodies to a raw, unpolished and powerful rock nirvana. Even though you may know the LAVETT members from before. You'll have had no way to prepare yourself for what they're bringing to your speakers this time around."
LAVETT is:
Daniel Heiman (LOST HORIZON, HEED) - Vocals
Michael Niklasson (DARK TRANQULLITY) - Bass
Robert Vintervind (BESEECH) - Gutar
Manne Engtröm (BESEECH, FATAL EMBRACE) - Guitar
Christian Silver (SUNDOWN, CEMETARY) - Drums

The response of singers wanting to be a part of this has been nothing short of overwhelming, and we are very pleased with the lineup thus far. Indeed, we are both excited and honored to be sharing the stage with such incredibly talented people; each have made a name for themselves with their individual vocal stylings and we look forward to having them alongside us as we showcase Midnight’s extraordinary career with Crimson Glory.
As this is our only US show date scheduled for 2009, this promises to be a truly memorable show for long-time fans as well as the “new blood” with something for everybody, and we feel that Midnight would be very pleasantly surprised to know that so many gifted singers have stepped up to lend their unique voices to his tribute.
We realize that many ProgPower USA attendees were coming to this year’s fest to see specific bands, the absence of whom have allowed us this great opportunity to perform. It is our sincere hope that the varied lineup of guest performers we have selected will ensure that all who attend this year get something truly personal and special from our show.
Crimson Glory wishes to again extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to founder/promotor Glenn Harveston for offering this great opportunity to celebrate Midnight’s legendary legacy with our band, as well as for working so hard to keep this incredible festival going for ten years strong. We are proud to be a part of ProgPower USA, and we aim to help make this the most memorable and truly special ProgPower event since its inception.
Lastly, to all of our fans both diehard and new, we thank you for your amazing support: it is YOU who make Crimson Glory’s music truly eternal.
We’re looking forward to meeting those of you coming to the fest; we’ll see you in September!
