Bruce has asked me to thank everyone for their tremendous support and kind wishes.
He has been extremely touched and encouraged by the genuine and affectionate response from our global family of Maiden fans.

Radiology is cumulative and continues to build in the body for around three weeks after treatment, so even though Bruce’s seven week course is completed, he’s had a long period of considerable pain and discomfort.
He is happily now starting to recuperate and the pain will continue to abate and the swelling to reduce for the next couple of months at which time he will be able take an MRI scan.
It is not until then that we will have full confirmation that the cancer has been completely destroyed. However prognosis continues to be extremely good and everyone is optimistic for a full recovery.
Following the scan, we will officially update you on our website at the appropriate time, probably in late May.

After that, it will take a few more months for Bruce to get back to full fitness.
Naturally the rest of the band are totally supportive and Maiden’s plans will be determined by Bruce’s progress.

Juu, sain suoraan Warner-music:ilta briteistä tuon boxin jo aiemmin.
Eivät kyselleet mistä ostettu tai mitään muutakaan tietoa ja haluavat vaan varmaan nopeasti korvata tuon pienen kämmin.

Laitoin muistaakseni torstaina 19. päivä helmikuuta viestin tuonne, kyselivät osoitteen samantien ja seuraavana päivänä tuli viesti että boxi on postitettu ja se saapui perille 2.3.
Sain myös eilen Äx:ltä viestin asian tiimoilta mutta laitoin vastauksen että homma ok omalta osaltani ja että olin saanut alan foorumeilta osoitteen josta homma selvis. En nyt enempää tyhjiä Maiden-lootia tarvii tällä hetkellä ja vanhat painokset voi laittaa tuohon kapeampaan malliin kuten Edward Mannerheim teki myös.

Dave Murrayn kitarateknikko Colin Price kirjoittaa Facebook-sivullaan, että hänen kalenterinsa on loppuvuodeksi työvelvotteista vapaa peruutusten johdosta. Joten tästä voisi hätäisempi päätellä, että suunniteltu kiertue Megadethin kanssa on ajautunut karille Dickinsonin tilanteen myötä.

Parlophone Records (BMG/INgrooves Music Group for the USA) are delighted to announce the release of nineteen IRON MAIDEN catalogue albums which have been Mastered For iTunes (iTunes.com/IronMaiden), encoded from 24-bit / 96 khz high resolution masters and now re-mastered with iTunes in mind, delivering the music to listeners exactly the way the artist and recording engineer intended. These are brand new re-masters from their original analogue sources, exclusively produced for iTunes.

"The Mastering For iTunes procedure allows the listener to experience the music as close as possible to the way the artist intended it to be heard. So of course I was very keen for the Maiden albums to be mastered in this way. The records have been available digitally before, when this medium first became a platform for music distribution but that was mastered with CDs in mind. The iTunes process involves a different approach and it's great to finally deliver the music to our fans in as close to a pure and accurate sound as we could possibly achieve.For example, as most people know, I was never really happy with the sound on the first Maiden album but listening to it now, the guitars are louder, the drums more substantial and the overall tone is so very much improved in my opinion. Tony Newton and Ade Emsley who worked closely with me on the project did a terrific job recapturing everything from the original masters and together we've re- mastered them all digitally and I'm really happy with the results."

Tony Newton adds:
“The process started with locating all of the original album mix tapes (or whichever format they were mixed to). Then the choice of analogue to digital convertor was chosen for the most accurate capture to make it as close as possible to the sound of the mix as it was intended by the band. When a lot of these tapes were last captured it was in the 1980's, early days of digital and only 44.1khz/16bit files were possible. On top of this the new A/D convertors are far superior now, and of course it is possible to produce files of far higher resolution. The result of this is that the songs now sound more defined with added depth and warmth. I was very excited to be asked to be part of this project, I honestly feel that there is a massive improvement in the quality of these classic albums.”

We are very happy to announce that following his recent MRI Scan, Bruce was today officially given the all-clear by his specialists.

Bruce says,

“I would like to thank the fantastic medical team who have been treating me for the last few months, resulting in this amazing outcome. It’s been tough on my family and in many ways it was harder for them than me. I’d also like to send a heartfelt thanks to all our fans for their kind words and thoughts. I’m a firm believer in trying to maintain a positive attitude, and the encouragement from the global Maiden family meant a great deal to me. Right now, I’m feeling extremely motivated and can’t wait to get back to business as usual, as soon as I can!”

Rod Smallwood continues,

“We are of course all absolutely delighted that Bruce’s doctors have pronounced him free of cancer. Although Bruce is naturally eager to resume Maiden activities, it will take a while before he is completely back to full strength, as we explained previously. Because of this, the band will not be touring or playing any shows until next year. We know our fans will understand the situation and, like us, would prefer to wait until Bruce is back to his usual indefatigable levels of fitness before going out on the road.

For now, the focus will be on putting the finishing touches to the new Iron Maiden studio album and that is what we will be concentrating on over the coming weeks. The release however will definitely be this year. Meanwhile, I’d like to echo Bruce’s words and thank all Maiden fans. You have been incredibly patient, putting Bruce’s health and well-being first during this difficult time and the band and I appreciate all your positive support.”

Aivan loistava uutinen! Tiedotteen voisi kiteyttää seuraavasti:

-Bruce siis parantunut syövästä kokonaan, mutta ei kykene vielä esiintymään sataprosenttisesti, joten kesäksi suunniteltu kiertue siirtyy ensi vuoden puolelle

-Uusi studiolevy saatetaan julkaisukuntoon tulevina viikkoina, ja se tulee ulos vielä tänä vuonna, todennäköisesti syksyllä.

Täytyy sanoa että itsellä oli aika kova huoli tuon syöpäuutisen suhteen - kielisyövässäkin on ei-triviaali kuolleisuus. Tosin Bruce ehkä on pitänyt kurkkuvärkistään hyvää huolta ja säännöllisessä tsekkauksessa on löytynyt aika ajoissa? Syövät ovat muutenkin arvaamattomia, joskus vaarattoman oloinen syöpä 'ärhäköityy' hoidon aikana ja leviää nopeasti.
En voisi olla iloisempi sen suhteen että kaikki meni ilmeisesti hyvin, toivottavasti kaveri nyt käy ahkeraan jatkoseulonnassa ja kannustaa muitakin bändin jäseniä tutkituttamaan kaikki omituiset oireet ajoissa...

Brucelta pukkaa elämänkertaa. 2017 tulee ulos. "I´ve had a full life" kuten eräässäkin maidenin biisissä sanotaan. Tuosta elämästä riittää kyllä kerrottavaa vaikka ihan kirjasarjaksi asti Pakkohankinta.

^Takuulla aivan helkkarin mielenkiintoinen omaelämäkerta tulossa. Tokihan Bruce on aika kattavasti monia asioita vuosien mittaan valaissut, mutta tässä on hiljattainkin tapahtunut niin paljon, että jo pelkästään sen takia mielenkiintoinen juttu. Ja kun esim. Maiden-eron ja -paluun aikoihin on nyt tullut perspektiiviä ja etäisyyttä lisää, niin sitäkin suuremmalla mielenkiinnolla odotan, mitä saadaan. Puhumattakaan varhaisemmista vuosista...Toivotaan, että opuksesta tulee oikeasti paksu, sen verran paljon on miehellä varmasti kerrottavaa...

Pieni pelko on perseessä Rod-suodattimen suhteen, mutta ei kai nyt sentään... Maiden Revelationsilla oli kyllä ihan asiallinen pointti:
"The Bruce quote sounds more like Rod than Bruce, as usual, but this could be one of the better rock autobiographies for sure. As long as Rod doesn't ghostwrite it."

Eipä näitä enemmän tiedotehenkisiä juttuja niin vakavasti tarvitsekaan aina ottaa, mutta on kyllä pistänyt silmään, miten Maideninkin viimeisimpien tiedotteiden (vai enkö vaan ole aiemmin ollut tarkkana, tiedä häntä, toki verrattain lyhyt aika tätä seuraamistakin takana) Bruce-lainaukset on olleet aika pitkälti sitä samaa jargonia, mitä Rodkin suoltaa. Ei tämä nyt silleen häiritse, mutta kun onhan se Brucen ulosanti ainakin noin suullisesti vaan niin paljon värikkäämpää... Eipä sitä kyllä kait tiedotteisiin voi tekstimuodossa sellaisenaan siirtääkään, true dat.

Ei mutta nyt täällä sorrutaan itse vaan hölöttämään. Brucen omaelämäkerralle kuitenkin iso peukku ja löytää tiensä hyllyyn heti kun julkaistaan.

Laitetaan nyt tänne. Itselleni tuli uutena tietona se, että Wasted Years oli alunperin työnimeltään "Golden Years". Nimi kuitenkin muutettiin sittemmin hieman ei-kornimpaan muotoon.

Huhujen mukaan Iron Maiden myös osallistuu kevään Record Store Day-teemapäivään.
Tuolloin RSD-julkaisuna Maídenilta tulee 12" maksisinkku avattavilla kansilla.
A-puolelta löytyy "Empire Of The Clouds" ja vastaavasti B-puolelta ennenjulkaisematon haastattelu.
Vinyyli on valitettavasti kuvalevy tällä kertaa. Painosmäärästä ei mainintaa mutta 16.4. saatavana levykaupoista.
Tuo on siis vasta huhu joten mahdollinen julkaisu varmistuu lähempänä päivämäärää.
