Ehdottomasti mentävä uudestaan Schenker/co. katsomaan, jahka tulevan levyn tiimoilta suomeen tlevat.

Tällaista on näemmä ilmestynyt 2010; en tiedä mahtuuko yhtä vaille kaikkien UFO-studiolevyjen viereen hyllyyn... kyllähän se houkuttaisi. Mutta "hankitaan" digitaalisena ainakin siksi aikaa. Ja briiffauksen puhe sooloilusta on kovin helppo uskoa!
UFO - Let It Roll (2010) (box set)

2010 four CD live archive box set from the British Hard rockers. Let It Roll features rare and previously unreleased concert performances by the classic line up of Schenker, Mogg, Way, Raymond and Andy Parker. 55 digitally remastered tracks.
This is a great release from UFO, Discs 1,2, and 4 being similar to Live on Earth, Werewolves from London, and Disc 2 of Covenant in capturing Michael Schenker at his rawest. Schenker's soloing on Disc 1 has at times to be heard to be believed - though the rest of the band lack a bit of pace on this recording and it is as if Michael is trying to make up for this by injecting energy. Disc 3 is almost certainly not Michael Schenker, but a '79 performance by Paul Chapman (please comment if I'm wrong about this). Chapman is on form, reproducing live the kind of blistering incendiary detonations we find in studio form on No Place to Run. At first I thought it was Schenker on this disc, but Schenker's trademarks were all missing, and whilst Schenker religiously sticks to melodic structures whilst reserving improvisation for solos only, Chapman sometimes replaces song-structure with improvisation. With respect to the sound quality, then again it is similar to Live on Earth, Werewolves from London, and Disc 2 of Covenant, but much better than the sound quality of MSG's Back to Attack and Reactivate Live (however, Back to Attack disc 3 is so good, that Back to Attack is worth getting anyway). ~amazon

Dean-kitaroiden sponsori wrote:"Neptune Rising", a brand new song from MICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK, can be streamed using the SoundCloud player below. The track comes off MICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK's new album, "Bridge The Gap", which will be released on December 2.

MICHAEL SCHENKER'S TEMPLE OF ROCK features legendary German guitarist Michael Schenker alongside vocalist Doogie White, guitarist/keyboardist Wayne Findlay, bassist Francis Buchholz and drummer Herman Rarebell. The CD marks the first time Schenker and fellow ex-SCORPIONS members Buchholz and Rarebell have appeared on the same album since the classic 1979 SCORPIONS LP "Lovedrive".

Says Schenker about "Neptune Rising": "'Neptune Rising' is a song I wrote in the studio. It's about Wayne Findlay. He reminds me of a Neptune with his crazy hair and beard. One day I had this vision of seeing him with the Trident coming out of the ocean. Wayne loves water and the undersea world. So, I suggested that we design a guitar that looks like a Trident. The guitar is almost completed and will be called Trident and will be seen on our next tour."

"Bridge The Gap" is described in a press release as "an album of 13 hard-hitting, adrenalin-fueled melodic rock'n'roll songs that showcase Shenker's distinctive and explosive guitar playing."

Scottish vocalist Doogie White, who co-wrote the album with Schenker, soars across every song, and stamps his enthusiastic personality with every note and phrase. Wayne Findlay adds another dimension to the dynamic, classic Schenker sound with his Dean seven-string guitar and keyboard orchestrations.

"Bridge The Gap" is a thunderous, explosive collection of brand new songs steeped in shades of dark and light. Musically and lyrically, the new album shows a re-energized guitarist at the top of his game, surrounded by top drawer musicians.

The album was recorded from January to March 2013 at Kidroom Studios, Germany and was produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, and engineered by Voss.

"Michael and I had talked about recording an album together after the tour of 2012," says Doogie White. "We never spoke about it again until January 2013 when he sent me seven ideas he had been working on.

"Last October, I started writing the music for the new album," adds Schenker. "I sent material to Doogie in the New Year and he started writing melodies and lyrics. I laid down some arrangements at Michael Voss's studio. There was a lot of energy flying about during the recording process. I had the same drive making this album as I had when I was 16. I wanted it fast, heavy and melodic. It felt like bridging the gap from my teenage and 'Lovedrive' years to what I am doing now. I'm back to where I was a long time ago and I love it."

"Never having really written with Michael before, apart from 'When The Devil Knows You're Dead' (from 2011's 'Temple Of Rock' album), I didn't know how flexible he would be writing wise," recalls Doogie." I laid down some vocal tracks as ideas and when Michael heard them. we were off and running. Within two weeks we were in the studio laying down tracks."

Schenker admits that when he wrote this album, he tried to get a balance between songs that are heavy, fast and melodic, complimented by his signature guitar solos.

"I wanted to combine the old with the new," he says. "That's why the album's called 'Bridge The Gap'. With Wayne playing seven-string guitar we created some low, heavy modern sounds. Since I play and experiment on a regular basis, I always have some new, fresh sparks to share when I record a new album. I am inspired from within. It's infinite like a kaleidoscope."

"As former members of the SCORPIONS, Herman, Francis and I have been out of the loop of rock'n'roll for quite a while. Getting together for the first time since the 'Lovedrive' album is an incredible jump. We're connecting the past with the present. We're bridging the gap."

Schenker remains philosophical about the name of the new album. He believes the name reflects what is going on in the fast-moving world around him.

"Everything that is currently going on in this world is showing that people are desperate for change," he says. "We need to bridge the gap of poverty. There are too many innocent people getting killed in terrorist attacks. We need to leave all of this chaos behind us. We have to be strong. We have to continue moving forward, working together in a balanced way."

Schenker is amazed how melodic the new album turned out, but he still insists the songs still feature a bit of darkness as well.

"I came up with the name of the album, before I even started writing. When Doogie started writing the lyrics to the new songs he had something to go by. I guess 'Bridges Burned' is a new song that is something of a word play on 'Bridge The Gap'. I love this song. Doogie's singing is excellent on this."

"'Horizons' is a really powerful and exciting track from the new album," says Schenker. "I love the energy and Doogie's great vocal lines."

"'Neptune Rising' is a song I wrote in the studio.

"'Because You Lied' is completely of the wall. I love everything about it. I had a real blast playing the guitar solo. In general, on the new album I have injected each song with a new wave of lead guitar playing. It had a lot of fun making the entire album. Francis and Herman — the original SCORPIONS rhythm section of 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' seriously rock on the new album."

"Bridge The Gap" track listing:

01. Neptune Rising
02. Where The Wild Winds Blow
03. Horizons
04. Lord Of The Lost And Lonely
05. Rock'n'roll Symphony
06. To Live For The King
07. Land Of Thunder
08. Temple Of The Holy
09. Shine On
10. Bridges We Have Burned
11. Because You Lied
12. Black Moon Rising
13. Dance For The Piper
14. Faith (bonus track; featuring lead vocals by Don Dokken)
Tuosta Where The Wild Winds Blow -klipistä saa -nimestä huolimatta- laukkakomppeineen pientä mielikuvaa, miten D. White olisi Maideniin kenties sopinutkaan. Paremmin kuin Blaze?

Harrisin, Mustainen ja monen muun aiheellisesta fanituksesta huolimatta, ei ainakaan noista pätkistä paljon Michael Schenkeriä löydä. Toista se oli pimeämpinäkin päivinä. Ja onko taas liikaa biisejä? 14 ml. Don Dokken?

Edit: Pete Waylla on eturauhassyöpä, ukkoparka, toivottavasti toipuu. Vaikka ihme, etteivät kemikaalit ole ehtineet jo asialle.

UFO TAITUROI NOSTURILLA TOUKOKUUSSA

Upean uran taittaneelle brittiläiselle rock –bändi UFO:lle olisi helppoa jäädä lepäämään pyörilleen, julkaista ”Best of” -albumi ja kuunnella kuinka palkkiorahat kilisisivät tilille.

Viimeisin albumi ”Seven Deadly” julkaistiin vuonna 2012. Levy kuljettaa mielenkiintoisissa soundimaailmoissa klassisesta rockista menevään jammailuun.

Rockin aliarvostetuimman vokalistin, Phil Moggin karisma on huikeaa ja olen Vinnie Mooren plekuakin ylpeämpi miten herra jäi makustelemaan tarjolle heittämääni (kun mietti, kuinka erikoista olikaan juuri hetkeä aikaisemmin käyttää ensi kertaa koko päivänä kirosanaa) extraordinary :D '..I once dated an extraordinary girl... excuse me, I got a wee lost there!' Mistä muuten voi ostaa samanlaiset henkselit?! Kts. nimim. Koolin videot alempaa.

Huippuhetkiä 1974-kaksikon jälkeen uuden levyn upean Burn Your House Downin ja harmi kyllä 1995 comeback Walk On Waterin ainokaisen, Pushed To The Limitin uhkaavan väkivaltaisuuden kanssa.

Setti:

A CONSPIRACY OF STARS

featuring Phil Mogg, Paul Raymond, Andy Parker, Vinnie Moore and Rob De Luca

Of course you don't need to attach more importance to this piece of news than it necessarily has, but it certainly deserves to be mentioned: for the first time in more than 20 years, one of the most British rock bands in music history has recorded a studio album in their native country. Their latest offering is entitled A Conspiracy Of Stars, cut by rock legend UFO and breathes that typically British easy-going confidence for which this band has been known for over 45 years.

A strong release consisting of eleven songs which combine everything that the group surrounding frontman Phil Mogg stands for: meaty riffs, distinctive hooks, diverse songwriting, intelligent lyrics and that generally laid-back attitude which we have associated with UFO from the start. The fact that A Conspiracy Of Stars was produced and mixed by Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, among others) may be considered another successful element in a thoroughly consistent release. To cut a long story short: their 22nd studio recording to date sees UFO prove that past and present can be blended in a homogeneous whole.

A Conspiracy Of Stars presents UFO's current line-up for the first time: along with the original members, Phil Mogg (vocals), Paul Raymond (keyboards, guitar) and Andy Parker (drums), lead guitarist Vinnie Moore has been a permanent member of the group since 2003, American bassist Rob De Luca joining the fold in 2012. De Luca is not only a brilliant instrumentalist but has also contributed two of the album tracks as a songwriter. The majority of the new material was composed by Vinnie Moore, the album also featuring a song by Paul Raymond and a collaboration between Raymond and De Luca. The lyrics were penned by frontman Phil Mogg.

Talking of which: once again, Mogg proves his talent as a keen observer of the human species. Despite his exceptional position in the international rock'n'roll genre, the British vocalist has remained a man of the people. Mogg continues to be sympathetic to the working class, that's where his roots are, those are the people that the UFO singer continues to feel close to. Listening to UFO's new material, you can hear his origins in his songs, in his lyrics, which – despite plays on words and conscious ambiguities – prove his unconditional down-to-earthiness and produce wonderfully poetic phrases such as: "The scatter roller's coming down, summers been and turned around, it don't seem so long ago, that you were my precious cargo," he sings on 'Precious Cargo', an equally subtle declaration of love as the number 'Killing Kind', which has Mogg kick off with the words: "Tell a story about love and what lovers find, a story of possession, the killing kind." In view of so much verbal aesthetics it comes as no surprise that the UFO vocalist is appreciated the world over for his sensitive and carefully written lyrics.

Lyrics and music for A Conspiracy Of Stars were written and composed in summer 2014. The band met for rehearsals at the Barn Room studios in Kent in mid-August before UFO moved a few miles further east to Chris Tsangarides' Ecology Rooms studio, where they recorded their latest oeuvre, supported by the Greek Cypriot-British sound engineer, from late August until mid-September. Coincidentally, Tsangarides was working at the studio as a 14-year-old trainee when UFO recorded their debut album UFO 1 in England in 1970.

So everything's ready: A Conspiracy Of Stars is all wrapped up, the tour to support the album in spring 2015 has been booked, and UFO are ready to embark on the 22nd chapter of their career. Respect!

Legendary guitarist Michael Schenker will release a new studio album titled "Spirit On A Mission" in the U.K. on March 23. Released by in-akustik, the collection of all-new material features Schenker's TEMPLE OF ROCK band — ex-SCORPIONS drummer Herman Rarebell and bassist Francis Buchholz, ex-RAINBOW singer Doogie White and Wayne Findlay (guitar, keyboards).

"Spirit On a Mission" features twelve 12 classic rock guitar-driven songs that highlight Schenker's distinctive and dynamic guitar playing, valiantly underpinned by the ferocious rhythm section of Rarebell and Buchholz, the same rhythm section that originally performed together on the SCORPIONS' 1979 album "Lovedrive".

Michael remembers how he came up with the name of the new album: "A while ago I was asked how I wanted to be remembered, and I said 'as a spirit on a mission, spreading the joy of music from a place of pure self expression.'"

Scottish vocalist Doogie White, who co-wrote the album with Schenker, soars across every song, and stamps his personality with every note and phrase, while Wayne Findlay adds a new level to Schenker's classic sound with his Dean seven-string guitar and keyboard arrangements.

"Spirit On a Mission" is a rapturous, explosive collection of brand new songs steeped in shades of dark and light. Musically and lyrically, the new album shows a re-energized guitarist at the top of his game, surrounded by some of the best musicians in rock.

The new album was recorded at Kidroom Studios in Münster, Germany; the same studio where 2013's "Bridge The Gap" album was laid down. The CD was produced by Michael Voss and Michael Schenker, and engineered by Voss.

"After the 'Bridge The Gap' Japan tour in March 2014, I started to put new material together for what was to become the 'Spirit On A Mission' album," says Schenker. I went to the recording studio in June 2014 to put down the song arrangements and we finished recording in November."

During the recording of the new album, the original recordings and guitars were stolen from the recording studio. Did this impact on the recording process of the new album?

"Yes, we got robbed [some guitars and some music] and got very upset about it," recalls Schenker. "Fortunately, it was just performances and not compositions. We caught up and performed the music better than before. It forced us to work extra hard and longer but it made it stronger."

For Schenker, the songwriting and recording process for "Spirit On a Mission" was very different from the 2012's "Bridge The Gap" album.

Says Schenker: "I already knew ahead of time that I wanted to take 'Spirit On a Mission' to the next level by adding more seven-string guitar on some songs to get more of the low heavy sound, and on other songs to keep it very fast and energetic with melodic vocals and a couple of mid tempo's with more of my writing like in my UFO days."

"Doogie did an amazing job with his melodies and singing," adds Schenker. "Even though we had our instruments, music and equipment stolen from the recording studio, we had to re-record a lot of his vocals again, but when we did it the second time around, it got even better.

"I asked Wayne to come up with a few cool guitar riffs on his seven-string. I added my parts to it and the outcome was very unique. Again, with the addition of Doogie's vocals, we entered a whole new place that was an extreme pleasurable experience."

The writing process and overall concept for "Spirit On a Mission" proved to be a fulfilling experience for Schenker and his band.

Says Schenker: "I always write in the same way but this time, especially driven by a precise concept. The picture was album balance for me and combine many years of emotions in one. I wanted lots of double-bass drum to keep the fast songs rolling like a train with lots of energy covered with interesting elements, a couple of my UFO days-type of mid tempos and the seven-string low sound to get a very wide range of sounds and emotions."

Michael's TEMPLE OF ROCK shared ideas and collaborated in a bigger way on the new album.

"All songs were co-written by Doogie and myself, "recalls Schenker. "Wayne co-wrote five songs. I originally wanted to write the album as a group effort, but I had this concept that needed to be focused on differently. However, Herman and Francis did very well by adding their amazing 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' rhythm section parts that gave it all it needed."

The new album also sees guitarist and keyboard player Wayne Findlay taking on a bigger role.

"Wayne has been with me (MSG) since 1999," says Schenker. "In 2004, I met Dean Guitars and they built me a seven-string. I played it for a while but thought it was too much of a sidetrack from what I was doing."

"I always liked that low sound and asked Wayne to look into developing it on the seven-string. A couple of years ago we started to use a bit of Wayne's seven-string guitar on 'Bridge The Gap' as a slow introduction. Wayne looks like a Neptune (Ocean God) and he loves the ocean. I saw this as an opportunity to have Dean build him a Trident Guitar in order to make his character complete. I wrote a little piece about Wayne called 'Neptune Rising' on the 'Bridge The Gap' album, and now on 'Spirit On A Mission', Wayne was ready to co-write five songs, and has now become an essential part of TEMPLE OF ROCK."

"Coincidentally," says Schenker, "former SCORPIONS members Herman Rarebell and Francis Buchholz and myself were out of the loop of rock 'n' roll around the same time, but for different reasons. When we recorded 2013's 'Bridge The Gap' album, we had not played together since the SCORPIONS' 'Lovedrive' album (1979). 'Sprit On A Mission' is the second TEMPLE OF ROCK album to feature the former SCORPIONS rhythm section.

Former RAINBOW singer Doogie White is described by Schenker as an "extremely creative individual with a fantastic range and a voice that never stops". "How many people do you know that can sing nine shows in a row, without a day off and still have a voice with a range like his?" says Schenker. "He's a real trooper."

What are Schenker's favorite songs from "Spirit On a Mission", and why?

Says Michael: "I love 'Live And Let Live' because it has everything. I love 'Vigilante Man' because it's heavy and melodic with a great tempo and sound. 'Something Of The Night' turned out to be a fantastic outcome especially with that spooky Howler sound I developed awhile ago. 'Saviour Machine' is an epic. 'Rock City', 'Bullet Proof', 'Restless Heart' — I love the fast melodic stuff, and the other seven-string songs with a touch of '70s rock."

What are Schenker's overall plans to promote the new album? Does he plan on touring the album by relentless touring and playing summer festivals?

"Promotion is definitely the next step," says Schenker. "and tour-wise, including festivals, we will play wherever we can to promote 'Spirit On a Mission'.

"I want to make TEMPLE OF ROCK its own entity. Right now it is still using the Michael Schenker platform but eventually I want it to stand on its own feet as 'TEMPLE OF ROCK'."

Paljon puhetta jostain 7-kielisestä kitarasta, kuuleeko sellaisen (eron) muka jossain?

Toivottavasti White saisi vähän parannettua tästä, aikamoinen ero vaikkapa Rainbown kanssa tekemäänsä Stranger in us Alliin. No ompa tuossa parikymmentä vuottakin toki välissä

Tuossa edelliseltä levyltä muistutukseksi upea Burn Your House Down, jonka kuuleminen oli hieno hetki Nosturissa viime toukokuussa!

Voisipa itsekin; extra mörk-paahtoista kaffetta & Foundersin All Day IPA lasiin 8)

*this track has Paul Chapman (ex-Lone Star) on lead guitar, and I think that Chapman captures it perfectly, possibly his finest hour.

edit: siellähän on vain hyviä biisejä jonossa! Venus, Mr. Freeze ja Belladonna noin esimerkeiksi.

Kaverin koneelta kuultuna tuo Conspiracy on kyllä parasta UFO:a ainakin 10 vuoteen  . Toimivia biisejä, kovaa kitarointia+rytmiryhmää ja Moggin ääni edelleen kondiksessa. Vuoden parhaimpia hardrock-levyjä Black Star Ridersin uusimman ohella!
