This album will be all about the Swedish Empire and for the first time ever we have had an expert to help us out with the theme, the well known Swedish historian Bengt Liljegren.

We have also added some extra time in the studio to find the absolute right sound on CAROLUS REX, and our producer Peter Tägtgren says that this album will mark a brand new standard for how a heavy metal album should sound like!

CAROLUS REX will be out in May and after that we have a 2 year long world tour to look forward to!

CAROLUS REX – TRACKLIST:

1. Dominium Maris Baltici

6. Karolinens bön
7. Carolus Rex

No niin, tässä on sitten kaikille Sabaton-faneille helvetin hyvä syy kiittää Suomen perustuslakia pakkoruotsista :D . Itsehän olena fiiliksissä, että pääsee opiskelemaan Ruotsin suurvaltahistoriaa jäätävän tuuttauksen kera.

Toivottavasti tulee yhtä kurko levy kuin Art of War. :D

Jaahas, aiheensa ja myyntimääriensä suhteen levy tulee olemaan ns. "limited edition". On pojilla otsaa :D

Eihän toi mua haittaa, därför att svenska är mitt andra hemmaspråk, men jotakuta muuta saattaa valittu aihepiiri närästää... Onpahan ainakin vähän sivuttu aihe tuo Ruotsalaiset Sotasankarit ja Ruotsalaisen Imperiumin Nousu Ja Tuho.

God natt !

Carolus Rex available with both Swedish and English lyrics.
On March 5, 2012

We can now confirm that our new album will be available with both English and Swedish language.

The topics of the songs will remain quite the same and deals with the Swedish Empire, from it’s rise to it’s fall.

Carolus Rex will be available for purchase on single Swedish CD (Sweden only) and single English CD plus a limited edition which features a double CD with both language versions. The double CD will also feature a different cover artwork.

The release is set for Europe and in North America the last week in May, but already now you can pre-order the album.

The album is produced by Peter Tägtgren who is also doing guest vocals on one song.

During the recording of Carolus Rex we also recorded a song where Joakim sings in German, a cover of “Feuer Frei” by Rammstein.

We are currently booking a huge tour and will present more countries in the upcoming days.

Here is the tracklists of the new albums.

Ihan hyvä homma tuokin, että on saatavana molemmilla kielillä. Tuohon ruotsiversion ajatukseen kerkesi jo sen verran tottua, että pitää varmaan hommata tuo molempien kielien tupla-CD. Tässä vielä nämät molemmat kansikuvat. Odotettavastikkin tuo toinen kansikuva on tämä mitä käytettiin edelliskeikoilla outron aikana, kun lakana välähti katosta rumpujen ym. eteen.

Hintaero todennäköisesti on niin pieni että eiköhän tuo tule automaattisesti ostettua, saas nähdä että toimiiko jokin biisi paremmin på svenska kun ilmeisesti biisit kuitenkin on sille alunperin tehty.

Kuten kirjoitin juuri messulaudalle:

SABATON Lineup Changes In The Works? - Mar. 26, 2012

Swedish-language newspaper Dalarnas Tidningar (DT) from SABATON's hometown of Falun published a report earlier today (Monday, March 26) claiming that the band's current incarnation will go its separate ways, with vocalist Joakim Brodén and bassist Pär Sundström planning to continue the group with new musicians.

According to Dalarnas Tidningar, it is not presently clear what caused SABATON's most recent lineup to implode, and Brodén, who is also the band's main songwriter, was tight-lipped about possible personnel changes when reached by the newspaper. "I will not comment on it," he said.

When pressed further to confirm or deny the rumors, Brodén said, "I can't say anything as long as the tape recorder is on. But what I can say is that it's sad that such rumors are being spread."

SABATON's new album, "Carolus Rex", will be released in Europe on May 25 via Nuclear Blast Records. The lyrics for the CD, which will be made available in both English and Swedish, deal with the Swedish Empire (referring to the Kingdom of Sweden between 1561 and 1721).
Joulukuun Sabaton-cruisella näyttivät kyllä nauttivan olostaan, joten katsotaan miten käy. Huhujahan nuo kai vielä ovat. Kuten nuokin kommenteissa:
They found new members a few weeks ago and are rehearsing for the tour. They will have a statement on their site soon, trust me.
But who cares? They are not the first band on the planet to change members.
Sääli homma, tai no kitaristithan ovat olleetkin muistaakseni molemmat tauoilla mutta rumpalin energia ja into on aina ollut olennainen osa lavaesiintymistään siinä missä Brodenin arskat. Se The Art Of Warin jälkeinen Wacken-video on unohtumaton!

Sabaton goes separate ways.
On March 30, 2012

Starting a band at the age of 18 is simple, keeping it intact for 12 years is much harder, and finally we have come to the crossroad where we will go separate ways.

Pär Sundström and Joakim Brodén will continue to battle on stage, carrying the banner of Sabaton to further victories.

We will always have an eternal bond to each other, created by more than 12 years of friendship & touring, and wish each other long and prosperous lives with families, various projects and musical careers.

In the end, all six of us will end up in our own glorious future…

This is the new Sabaton!

To end all rumors that Sabaton will stop touring, or even act/perform as a band, we can now present that Sabaton’s new lineup will be as follows:

Joakim Brodén – Vocals
Pär Sundström – Bass
Chris Rörland – Guitars
Thobbe Englund – Guitars
Robban Bäck – Drums

At the moment we are still searching for a keyboard player. Until we have found the right guy we will still have Daniel Myhr with us, in digital form, since he has specially recorded all keyboards for us to use on tour.

Therefore, we are not cancelling any shows at all – the war machine of Sabaton will go on just as planned!

The MKII of Sabaton is ready for the next chapter…

To meet the new members for the first time, please have a look at this

Sabaton about the recent events, the new members and Carolus rex

A lot of metalheads out there have noticed the turbulence happening in the Swedish metalband Sabaton. Rocksverige.se sat down to have a chat with Pär and Jocke to try to sort out what really happened.

Rocksverige: “So what did really happen? The pressrelease left a lot to the fans imagination.”

Pär: “We are not going to get in to details on this one, it's between us. When you work as close to each other for as long a period as we have, you tend to grow together in a way best described as brothers. We have been playing, travelling and living together for twelve years now, and everyone has developed over the years. We simply got to a point where our individual visions of our future endeavours with Sabaton differed in a way that forced us to choose path.”

Rocksverige: “You mean hitting the throttle or the brake?”

Pär: “Something like that.”

Rocksverige: “Does this mean that Sabaton is plugging in nitro now?”

Jocke: “While we are truly sad to see things develop in the way they now have, and I will miss the other guys a lot, this also means a real motivation boost and the start of a new chapter. We are excited as hell to get back on stage as soon as possible!”

Rocksverige: “Things happened pretty fast, how has the news been received by the fans?”

Jocke: “In different ways of course, I think we can sumarize things up with the collective insight that Sabaton won´t be the same without Oskar, Richard, Mullback och Myhr – and we fully agree, things will never be the same, but we are also convinced that our new lineup will give us a hell of an injection that will bring us to new heights. This is an important time in the relation with our fans, and we are incredibly humbled facing the task to keep the great confidence our fans has granted us over the years.”

Rocksverige: “How about the newcomers then, what´s your take on things?”

Thobbe: “For me personally this could not have come at a better time. My girlfriend had just broke up with me after 10 years, and I was about to sign a contract for a really scabby crib in a very shady area. I came home after one of the shittiest days at work ever, when the phone rang and Hulkoff (Raubier) told me he had something amazingly cool for me. When everything was settled with Sabaton, I marched in at work and quit, packed my bags and got the hell out of Dodge. I must give my boss some cred though, for letting me go straight away and not giving me a hard time about it. I am kind of living out a bag right now, until the USA-tour is finished, then we´ll see what happens. This is going to be insane!”

Robban: “We have big boots to fill here, and we are more than humble while trying to do it. Some has already given me the blame for everything bad here, I am too skinny, too glammy, too pansy and just totally wrong as a drummer in Sabaton – but what the hell, things can only get better from here!”

Chris: “This is big as hell! I am going to keep playing in Nocturnal Rites, but Sabaton will be my main calling from now. I came straight from the American embassy just now, where it actually seems they are approving my visa, now it is just a matter of getting the paperwork delivered in time, we are leaving Sunday, so it is a bit tight.”

Rocksverige: “So, the new album then. How did you ever think of doing it in Swedish?”

Jocke: “Well, it is possible some beer played a part…”

Rocksverige: “How unusual…”

Jocke: “As a matter of fact, it all began with me singing in Swedish just too fuck with everyone, and from that came the idea of making a bonus track in Swedish, which grew to a bonus album, which in the end became the actual album.”

Pär: “We actually recorded the album in both languages under the huge secrecy, and then we invited our friends and family to listen. When we had played the entire English version, we asked them if they wanted to hear any of the songs again, and sat up a playlist of those songs – in Swedish! A lot of dropped jaws there I can tell you, but it didn´t take long for everyone to agree that the Swedish version was easily the best one. So we called our label and told them that we were going to release the album primarily in Swedish, and they of course thought we were going completely mad and said no, but we explained politely that it was going to be a lot better that way, and they said no again, we explained once again that is was really going to be a lot better that way, and as it turned out – the record is now primarily in Swedish. Nowadays even the suits agrees that it is an awesome choice!”

Rocksverige: “How about the Swedish Empire as theme?”

Jocke: “You have no idea how many times we have been asked the question why we keep writing lyrics about other countries than our own, and when we started digging into the Swedish history, we had to go far back in time to find material suitable for our means. We have had great help from the historian Bengt Liljegren, who has found a lot of exciting stories to build lyrics from. Without him this would have been a quite boring album.”

Rocksverige: “You are leaving for your first headline tour in USA on Sunday, tell me about it.”

Jocke: “That’s right, the first part of The Swedish Empire tour. We are going to make the entire world speak Swedish now! We´ll stick to the east coast this time, with the exception of ending the tour with a release party at The Key Club on Sunset Strip, truly old classic grounds of hard rock!”

Pär: “We are a quite unknown to the americans, with only one album released this far, but it still feels as we made some good impressions while touring with Accept.”

Jocke: “It´s going to be a blast touring in the states, it´s like going back to the roots of hard rock with dirty, smoky and fucking hard rocking venues. On this side of the Atlantic everything around us is very well set up, while the yanks at the most will point in the direction of the nearest Wal-Mart. Having a dressing room with a shower, food and WiFi is just unimaginable over there. Everything can happen there, and that´s actually cool – a bit more adventurous that way!

Rocksverige: “So, what happens later today then?”

Pär: We started the day by hanging out for a while in the studio at the radio station Bandit Rock, playing Carolus Rex publicly for the first time, and now we´ll meet up with some more press before making the capital unsafe tonight.”

Rocksverige: “So you are staying the night for some party?”

Pär: “Yeah, and we were almost thinking of crashing some rock club to make an unannounced gig with just a couple of hours heads up, we just have to find a seven stringed guitar somewhere first…”

^Kyllä on tuonkin rallin perusteella tulossa niin pirun kova levy. Ei aivan vetänyt vertoja nimikkorallille mahtipontisuudessaan. Näitten kahden biisin perusteella saisivat soittaa vaikka koko levyn läpi, tuskin muut biisit voivat kovin käppäisiä olla.

On muuten helvetin loistava kappale! Kertsi on aivan mahtava, yksinkertaisesti.

Sabatonia ei olekaan tullu seurattua sitten Art of Warin, vaikka 2008 Graspopin keikka yhdeltä iltapäivällä on edelleenkin yksi kovimmista keikoista mitä olen nähnyt. Täytyykin ehkä taas ottaa bändi haltuun.
