Ei Ozzya ja Iommia enää samassa bändissä nähdä.
Näin omasta näkökulmastani, Joe McIverin Black Sabbath kirjan lukeneena.
Kiinnostavaa olisi kyllä tietää mitä Ward, Geezer ja Tony aikovat nyt sitten.

McIverin kirja on vuodelta 2006. Viime vuosina lehdistössä miehet ovat antaneet ihan positiivisia merkkejä jopa reunioista.

Dehumanizer Deluxe Edition Announced
Coming in February is the next in the "Deluxe Edition" remaster series by Universal/Sanctuary. This one is Dehumanizer. Below is a press release I was just sent today about the release. I haven't yet received the cover art, but if it goes by the rest of the series, it will be the cover art we know with the "Deluxe Edition" white band on it.

It will be released on Feb 7, 2011, and is the last in the series for the moment (yeah, I know Born Again, more on that in a minute). It will be two discs, the first disc is the standard album we've known, and disc 2 is a mix of live tracks and a couple of B-Sides.

It's not available for pre-order yet that I've noticed, but I definitely wanted to bring you the press release as soon as I got it. More info as I get it.

As for Born Again, I'm told that will too get released, but it's requiring more work than the others. Something to do with a "proper mix".

2CD 'DEHUMANIZER' SPECIAL EDITION

Originally released in 1992, 'Dehumanizer' was the first Black Sabbath album to feature the vocals of the late, great Ronnie James Dio since 1981's 'Mob Rules'. With a line-up completed by founder members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler, and drumming duties carried out by Vinny Appice, 'Dehumanizer' is arguably one of Sabbath's heaviest albums.

This edition is expanded with the single edit of 'Master Of Insanity', an alternate version of 'Letters From Earth' that originally appeared as the b-side to the 'TV Crimes' single, and a version of 'Time Machine' originally recorded for the soundtrack to the movie Wayne's World. In addition, the set also includes five rare live tracks from Florida's Sundome recorded at the beginning of the Dehumanizer tour in July 1992, including a previously unreleased live version of 'Master Of Insanity'.

The set includes liner notes from Metal Hammer's Dom Lawson, based on new interviews with Tony Iommi.

Kyllähän nämä kelpaa, vielä kun saisivat uusintapainokset muistakin Martinin ajan levyistä kuin The Eternal Idolista. Varsinkin sen ja Seventh Starin Ray Gillen-lisät olivat erittäin tervetulleita. Born Again on sekin näemmä tulossa jossain vaiheessa.

I would like to make it clear, because of mounting speculation and rumours, that there will be definitely NO reunion of all four original members of Black Sabbath, whether to record an album or to tour.

Interesting. Tony Martin on niin mahtava laulaja, että kerrankin Andyn projektibändiltä voi odottaa oikeasti loistavaa kamaa.

Tony: Not the band. But I don't have any problems with the people, though. For example, I would work with Tony Iommi, maybe. It's just that I wouldn't like to do the same thing that I did before. Just singing Ozzy songs, Dio songs and all the rest of it and my music being pushed aside. That was my issue.

It's just not possible. That's disappointing, 'cause I want to be out on the road! It's a natural place for a musician to be. Playing gigs is part of the fun. But you can't do it for nothing, and if you have to sell your house or your car or have to get a day job as an electrician or something to pay to go and play, then that's no fun and it's also damaging to your family and your life.

Kiintoisaa. Viime vuosinahan trendi on isoilla esiintyjillä ollut se että keikkaliksoja on voinut korottaa ja korottaa, kun festarialalla on niin paljon kilpailua (tosin ihan viime aikoina tämä on ehkä taittunut?) Pienemmillä esiintyjillä on tainnut olla kehitys päinvastaista.

Born Again 2 CD Deluxe Edition Coming May 30
The much anticipated 2 CD Deluxe Edition of Born Again turned up on Amazon UK's site for pre-order. Fans have asked for this for a long time, and finally it's coming. The track listing on the Amazon site is this:

Now the first two tracks are most interesting. The Fallen is that extra track that turned up on the Born Again demo bootleg from a few years ago. Was a quite interesting track, as it was unknown. Stonehenge is probably the 5 minute extended version that was a B side to some Born again album release (I forget what at the moment - Trashed, probably).

The rest looks like live stuff, based on the track listing, and the inclusion of Smoke on the Water. But the Amazon listing doesn't list anything as live, so we'll have to wait and see what the story with all that is.

I've requested information from Tony's management and Universal records regarding this situation. When I get it, there will be a huge update, I'm sure.

In the meantime, the album is available for pre-order from Amazon's UK site. This will not be released domestically in the US. Which is amusing, as this album has NEVER been released on CD in the US domestically. Ever. Going all the way back to 1983 (yes, there were CD's then, just not very well known or popular yet).
