"Mukavaa bilemusaa" tuntuisi olevan tämä viimeinen Scorppari, aika duurivoittoiselta levyltä kuulostaa.
Ja Slave Me -biisin soolon alku pöllitään komeasti Jimi Hendrixin All Along The Watchtowerin alun kitarasoolosta.

No jopas on Ei siinä soolossa muuta hyvää ollutkaan.

Tai sitten teikäläisen aivoista pääsi pieru, sillä tossa lienee kyse viime vuoden (vai olisko peräti vuoden 2008) Sauna Open Airista.

Joo kyllä nyt haisee sen verran paha kanamunapieru, että ikkunat joutu avaamaan! Oli nimittäin tuolla facebookissa uutinen, että radiossa oli kuulutettu Scorpionssia saunaan ja sitten hain tuon vanhan uutisen vahingossa, joten odotellaan josko lauantaille kuitenkin tulisi!

Vallan loistava levy tämä Sting In The Tail! Huomattava parannus hieman epätasaiseen Humanity Hour I -lättyyn verrattuna. Levy on sopiva sekoitus vanhaa kasari-Scorpionsia ja hieman modernimpaa ulosantia. Yleisfiilis on loistava. Biisit ovat monin paikoin simppeleitä, mutta rokkaavat mahtavasti. Parit biisit kuulostavat aika lailla AC/DC:n pöytälaatikoista lainatuilta, mutta pääasiassa bändi kuulostaa itseltään. Muutaman todellisen timantin on Scorpions saanut aikaiseksi. No Limit ja Turn You On ovat omaan makuuni ihan bändin parhaimmistoa. Myös slovaripuoli on onnistunut. Paljon mieluummin kuuntelen kaikkia tämän levyn slovareita kuin vaikkapa kulunutta Still Loving You:ta. The Best Is Yet to Come on mainio päätös levylle ja Scorpionsin hienolle uralle. Kaiken kaikkiaan olen äärimmäisen tyytyväinen, että bändi lopettaa uransa näin hienoon levyyn, joka rokkaa samalla tavalla kuin Scorpions kultaisella '80-luvulla.

Livenä olisi vielä kerran Scorpions nähtävä, joten toivotaan, että esiintyisivät esim. juuri Saunassa lauantaina. Muutoinkin olin aikeissa lauantaille hankkia lipun, kun Grave Digger esiintyy silloin.

Scorpions noussut Suomen virallisen albumilistan kuudenneksi! Paras studioalbumi sijoitus sitten Face The Heatin 1994 tai Crazy Worldin!!! Hieno juttu, toivotaan että nousee vielä tuostakin tulevina viikkoina!

Ja Billboard Top 200 listalla levy nousi #23. Paras listasijoitus Amerikassa yli 20 vuoteen!!!

Tämä onkin mielenkiintoista kuulla, millaisia versioita ukko on tehnyt näiden pändien veisuista!

Frontiers Records has set a June 4 European release date for MÖTLEY CRÜE singer Vince Neil's new solo album, "Tattoos & Tequila". The digital-only release of the title track will precede the full-length effort on April 16.

Neil recorded "Tattoos & Tequila" in the winter of 2009 with The CD was recorded with bassist Dana Strum and Jeff Blando (both of SLAUGHTER) and drummer Zoltan Chaney. The album will include two new songs — "Tattoos and Tequila" and "Another Bad Day", both produced by Marti Frederiksen (AEROSMITH, OZZY OSBOURNE, DEF LEPPARD) —plus a selection of classic cuts from some of the rock giants that have influenced Vince Neil throughout his musical career. The cover songs were produced by Vince and Jack Blades (DAMN YANKEES, NIGHT RANGER).

Kyllä tää Sting In The Tail hyvä on. Vähän pienimuotoisempi ja perinteisempi Scorpions-levy kuin pari edellistä, samalla myös hieman tasaisempi ja selvästi kallellaan 80-ja 90-luvun alun kulta-aikoihin. Paras biisi selvästi The Good Die Young, joka on samalla yksi parhaista Scorpions-veisuista ever. Raised On Rock miellyttää toiseksi eniten ja sen jälkeen jalka vipattaa komeimmin No Limitin ja Turn You Onin tahtiin. Balladit ovat kautta linjan onnistuneita ja niistä paras on ehkä Lorelei, joka alussa rippaa surutta bändin parhaan balladin Send Me An Angelin teemaa, mutta annettakoon se noin hyvässä biisissä anteeksi.

Siellä heikommassa päässä ovat Rock Zonen ja Let´s Rockin kaltaiset rypistykset, jotka vain eivät sävellyksinä yllä kovin korkealle tasolle. Rokkikukkojen rokkia tms.

Levyn päättävä The Best Is Yet To Come ei biisinä ole mitenkään ihmeellinen, mutta tunnelmaltaan etenkin sen ajatuksen kanssa, että saattaa päättää bändin pitkän ja komean levytysuran studioalbumien osalta, herkistää karuimmankin fanin. Soitto soi komeasti kuten tavallista ja Klaus Meinen suoritus, on puleerattu tai ei, on jälleen kerran todella komeaa kuultavaa. Hieman on ääneen hiipinyt karheutta, mutta vain hieman. Äkkiseltään kuulostellen tämän uutukaisen voi heittää koska vain jonkun Love At First Stingin rinnalle laulunkin puolesta. Ihme käppänä tuo Meine

Enpä minäkään joskus Eye II Eyen aikoihin enää uskonut bändin siitä suosta nousevan. Mutta niin vain nousi. Näin freesi päätös mittavalle uralle kirvoittaa mieleen yhden ainoan sanan.

So this is really it, the final SCORPIONS album? After all those years, since the formation by guitarist Rudolf Schenker in 1965 on through the release of 1972's "Lonesome Crow" album after vocalist Klaus Meine and Rudolf's little brother Michael had joined. On through great albums like "Lovedrive" and "Animal Magnetism", the breaking of the levy with "No One Like You" from "Blackout" and the commercial smashes that followed ("Love at First Sting", "Savage Amusement", "Crazy World"). Right on through the 90s and into the 21st Century with "Unbreakable" and "Humanity Hour: Hour I". It is hard to believe they've survived and thrived for so long and at the same time it is a bummer that they're finally calling it quits. But if that's the way it has got to be, then "Sting in the Tail" makes for a grand exit.

Speaking as a long time SCORPIONS fan, though one that let the last couple of albums pass him by, I can say without equivocation that "Sting in the Tail" is a very good representation of what makes the SCORPIONS a truly classic heavy metal band. I've got three words for you: hooks, guitars, and Klaus. "Sting in the Tail" in many ways defines the SCORPIONS' talent for writing choruses that stick like glue. That knack is omnipresent here, as songs like "Raised on Rock", which features a riff that sounds like a cross between "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and BLUR's "Song 2" (I'm serious), the title track, and "Slave Me", grab hold of the memory and dominate it. That is also the case with the album's four power ballads ("The Good Die Young", "Lorelei", "SLY", and "The Best is Yet to Come") all of which are definitive SCORPIONS beauties. Even those that may find them mere reformulations of a tried and true formula cannot deny the pure catchiness and passion of the songwriting. I should also note that Tarja Turunen contributes guest vocals on "The Good Die Young", just in case that's a selling point for you.

What makes "Sting in the Tail" even more recognizable as a SCORPIONS album is when those distinctive, soaring melodic leads of Matthias Jabs and Rudolf Schenker take a song and send it rocketing into the heavens. It is something they've done so well for so many years and the impact made on "Sting in the Tail" on several tracks is nearly as forceful as that heard on many of the band's classic albums.

And can you imagine the SCORPIONS without Klaus Meine behind the microphone? Arguments can be made for the importance of equally legendary singers to the established style of numerous other acts, but one would be hard-pressed to find a better example of it than Klaus's contribution to his group's sound. His voice has held up amazingly well and on "Sting in the Tail" he is still able to take a conventional pattern and raise it to a whole other level, beloved accent and all. Just listen to what he does to the rather cheesy (and infectiously so) chorus of "Turn You On".

There is no doubt that nostalgia will play a part in one's assessment of"Sting in the Tail" and I doubt the band would argue that point. In this case though, nostalgic familiarity does not overpower the quality of the song craft. While tracks such as "No Limit" and "Rock Zone" fall well short of classic status, they are solid just the same and do little to interrupt flow or momentum. If you've always loved the SCORPIONS, then "Sting in the Tail" will do nothing to change your mind. The iconic old timers have gone out on a high note.

Onko scorpionsilla mitään aavistusta koska Scorpionssin jäähyväiskiertue rantautuu Suomeen? Kiertuelistassa ei ainakaan vielä ole mitään mainintaa, mutta onko jossain haastatteluissa käyny mitään ilmi? Toki muutkin saa vastata, mutta scorpions varmasti perillä jokaisesta haastettelustakin

^Ei ole tällä hetkellä mitään uutta tällä rintamalla, jokunen aika sitten radiossa oli huhuiltu Saunasta, mutta taisi olla pahanlaatuinen uutisankka. Hiukan sellainen kutina on allekirjoittaneella että ei välttämättätänä tänä kesänä vielä Suomeen Scorpparit saapuisi, mutta mistäs sitä Keskisen Vesasta tietää jos herra iskee äijille tukun rahaa, hyvää saksalaista makkaraa ja Suomalaista Karhua Sen voi kyllä sanoa että varmasti tulevat tällä viimeisellä kiertueella Suomeen, siitä ei ole epäilystä!

Tänään kuuntelin kaksi älppäriä tältä bändiltä. Love at First Sting ja Savage Amusement oli kyseessä. Kummatkin loistavia levyjä! Aito vinyyliversio 80-luvulta ja volyymit täysillä on ainoa oikea tapa kuunnella näitä kahta levyä. Tarvitsee ostaa ainakin tuo Blackout vielä kasariscorpionien jatkoksi.

MICHAEL SCHENKER, CARMINE APPICE Perform With SCORPIONS In Illinois

Former UFO/SCORPIONS guitarist Michael Schenker and legendary drummer Carmine Appice (SLAMM, VANILLA FUDGE, ROD STEWART, OZZY OSBOURNE, TED NUGENT) joined SCORPIONS on stage on Saturday, August 21 at the Rosemont Theatre in Rosemont, Illinois. Michael came out for "Another Piece of Meat" and Appice (who plays drums in Schenker's current touring band) was on the drums for "No One Like You".

Eikä silleen, että yleensä bonusbiiseistä samalla levylläkään itkisin, mutta tämä että niitä laitetaan asiayhteyteen kuulumattomalta ajalta mukaan ei ole koskaan hyvä juttu. Nyt on 2004 Ubreakablen 2 x japanibonus tuossa uusimman SITT:n perässä + saman vuoden Miracle-sinkkubiisi. Thunder And Lightning on sentään tämän levyn oma bonus, mutta muutoin vähän typerää toimintaa mielestäni.
