Mä oon varmaan sokea tai jotain, mutta en löytänyt omaa topicia Rhapsodysta. Tuosta italo-powerin varmaankin tunnetuimmasta bändistä. Jos tälläinen kuitenkin on niin ei muutakuin lukkoa tälle.

Eli power-metallistahan Rhapsodyn kohdalla on kyse (jos joku niin sivistymätön löytyy ettei sitä tiennyt ) ja vieläpä aivan sieltä mahtipontisimmasta päästä. Ja kuten asiaan sopii, niin myös sanoitukset on sitä itseään, eli miekkaa ja lohikäärmeitä löytyy. Ja kyllä minulle ainakin putoaa. Tosin olen kuitenkin sen verran myöhäis herännyt, että tutustuin bändiin ensimmäisen kerran kunnolla vasta tuon uusimman levyn yhteydessä viime vuonna. Sen jälkeen on kuitenkin tullut hommattua kaikki studio levyt, eikä ole tarvinnut niihin pettyä, toimii! Oma tämän hetkinen suosikkini on Symphony of Enchanted Lands. Tuo uusinkin uppoaa mulle varsin hyvin, vaikka monet taitaa olla sitä mieltä, että mahtipontisuus on vedetty siinä jo liian överiksi.

Kuten manowar topicista moni on varmaan lukenut, niin Rhapsody on lähdössä metallin kuninkaiden kanssa yhteiselle kiertueelle, joten toivotaan tuon rundin eksymistä myös tänne pohjolan perukoille. Itse en ole Rhapsodyä livenä koskaan nähnyt, joten en tiedä kuinka tuo livenä toimii, mutta toivottavasti tulee tuon tulevan kiertueen myötä mahdollisuus se itse kokea.

Kyllähän Rhapsody varsin mainiota powertiluttelua on juu, neljä ensimmäistä levyä löytyy ja jossain välissä kaikkien muiden sadan ja yhden levyn kanssa pitäisi ostaa ne loputkin albumit. Kyllä se lempilevy on varmaa Dawn Of Victory, oli ensimmäinen Rhapsody levy minkä ostin ja minusta se vaan on biiseiltään paras. Rhapsodyhan taisi olla tuskassa 2000? jos en aivan väärin muista, silloin en siellä ollut ja nyt kun Manowar ja Rhapsody tulevat jossain välissä Suomeen niin onhan siellä oltava katsomassa, tosin Manowar tietysti pääsijalla silloin.

Tuo on kyllä aivan loistava biisi, mm. juuri tuon aksentin takia. Kieltämättä rupeaa aina hymyilyttämään kun tuon(kin) biisin kuulee

Rhapsody on mun perversio. Muuten koko sympho/power/kikuli/munapussi/whatever paskagenre on aivan turha, mutta Rhapsodyn musiikillinen nerokkuus on jotain aivan uskomatonta. Toki sieltä löytyy paljon pöllittyjä juttuja ihan klassisilta säveltäjiltä, mutta Alex Staropoli on aivan kurko säveltäjä ja sovittaja. Luca Turilli ei välttämättä niinkään, ainakin sen soololevyt ovat kuullostaneet Rhapsodyn jämiltä, biiseiltä mitkä ei ole kelvannut Rhapsodylle.

Viimeisin Rhapsody Enchanted PART II meni jo liian mahtipontisuuden puolelle, biiseistä ei tunnu saavan otetta ei sitten millään. Sieltä puuttuu ne tavaramerkit, eli muistettavat hittikertosäkeistöt. Kaikki muut levyt ovat tiukkaa tai vielä tiukempaa kamaa.

Luca Turillin kehittämä maailma ja saaga on aika naurettava, pöllitty sieltä sun täältä, eikä vähiten juuri Sormusten Herrasta, mutta onhan se aika ainutlaatuinen idea metallimaailmassa, ja kun musiikki on juuri niin kovaa kuin onkin, ei voi valittaa.

Mitähän on pääteltävissä siitä, että powergenren dissaajat Asa & Lappis "kehuvat" Rhapsodya, joka taas meikäläiselle, tuohon tyylilajiin mieltyneelle, putoaa ehkä heikoimmin näistä ns. suurista nimistä. No, aivan sama, tuli vaan mieleen, perversionsa kullakin kuten yllä on todettu.

Omistan levyt välillä 1998-2002 ja niistä paras on Symphony of Enchanted Lands. No, se oli mun ensimmäinen näistä, kaippa se vaikuttaa.

Bändi pystyy ajoittain suorastaan ilmiömäiseen lentoon, mutta seuraavassa hetkessä saattaa tulla täysi mahalasku. Eniten minua häiritsee nyttemmin, kuten Asa mainitsi, aivan överiksi mennyt mahtipontisuus, sekä nämä "päin persettä" aksentilla puhuvat narraattorit. Tappavat aika tehokkaasti levyn dynaamisuuden ja saavat skippisormen nykimään. Tarinat ovat aivan hiukkasen lapsellisia ja KAIKKI kyseisen tyylisuunnan yleistykset ovat käytössä, ja vielä vähän ylikin.

Fabio Lione on sinänsä pätevä laulaja, hänenkin suorituksessaan häiritsee pahasti läpi puskeva aksentti ja hänen tapansa "syödä" sanoista loppuja tai miten sitä kuvailisikaan. Soittajat ovat päteviä kavereita, vaikka välillä ei kuulija olekaan ihan selvillä, missä menee tietokoneella ja missä lihalla ja verellä tuotetun musiikin raja.

Bändin kataloogista löytyy hienoja kappaleita ainakin parin levyn verran, ne on vaan valitettavasti siroteltu paljon laajemmalle. Jokaista levyä kun tiivistäisi 1/3 verran ja supistaisi pituuden sinne 40-50 minuutin väliin, homma toimisi moninkertaisesti paremmin. Jotainhan bändistä kertoo se, että esim. Rain of a Thousand Flames on olevinaan EP ja sillä on pituutta 42 minuuttia, enemmän kuin joillakin bändeillä varsinaisella levyllä. Nykyisellään levyt käyvät soittimessa harvakseltaan, eikä koskaan jaksa kuunnella enempää kuin yhden levyn kerralla, niin täynnä kaikenlaista sälää ne ovat, että meinaa ihan väsyä. Vähän sama kuin esim. Nightwishin uusimmalla, jossa mopo karkasi käsistä pahemman kerran.

Hyvä bändi kaikesta nillityksestä huolimatta, silloin tällöin, sopivina annoksina. Tälläiset mielipiteet tällä kertaa.

Viimeisin Rhapsody Enchanted PART II meni jo liian mahtipontisuuden puolelle, biiseistä ei tunnu saavan otetta ei sitten millään. Sieltä puuttuu ne tavaramerkit, eli muistettavat hittikertosäkeistöt. Kaikki muut levyt ovat tiukkaa tai vielä tiukempaa kamaa.

Kyllä olen samaa mieltä. Muutama "hitti/kovan luokan rutistus" löytyy uusimmalta, mutta aika paljon on tuubaa pantu sekaan.

Rhapsody oli tuskassa vuonna 2000 ja aika surkea esitys. Yli puolet koskettimista tuli DAT/MD-nauhalta ja tuntui välillä siltä että tuli lisä kitaroitakin nauhalta mukaan. Ei siinä sinänsä, mitään, mutta koko live-soiton tunne ei ainakaan välittynyt minuun. Sama homma Nightiwshin keikoillakin nykyään.

Paras suoritus taitaa olla Power Of The Dragonflame tai Rain of a Thousand Flames EP. Paras kappale on kyllä Queen Of The Dark Horizons 13 minuutin pituudellaan, joka siis löytyy tuolta EP:ltä.

This testimony of pure energy, over 60 minutes long, was recorded at the 'Albert-Rousseau Arena' in Quebec/Canada on June 13, 2005 during leg one of RHAPSODY being the special guest on MANOWAR's 'Demons, Dragons and Warriors World Tour'.

The first leg of the tour, completed in Summer 2005, was highly acclaimed internationally for its stripped down and performance orientated arrangements, which allowed the band to prove that the music is the message.

Best known as lead guitarist, co-composer and co-founder of symphonic film-score metal flag bearers Rhapsody, Luca Turilli is an experienced and accomplished musician. With his third solo album entitled The Infinite Wonders of Creation, Turilli ends his epic trilogy. The trilogy began in the 1999 with King Of The Nordic Twilight, followed by Prophet Of The Last Eclipse, both of which commanded impressive chart positions in Germany, as well as other countries around the world.

Juu jos ei muuta hyvää Rhapsodystä löydä niin ainakin kansitaide on hienoa ... No en kokonaan dissaa bändiä/musaa. Power Of The Dragonflamella oli muutama kova biisi (kuten March Of Swordmaster) ja uusimmallakin on hyvät hetkensä. Olen jotenkin pitänyt Turillia ja Staropolia jonkun sortin neroina (ihan Tuomas Holopaisen ja Arjen Lucassenin veroisina) mitä tulee em. powerin ja klassisen musiikin yhdistämiseen. Ja Leone on kova vokalisti (ollaan italoaksentista mitä mieltä tahansa )...

Kolme ensimmäistä Rhapsody levyä on melko kovaa kamaa. Omaperäistä, tuoretta ja aikanaan innovatiivistakin musiikkia. Pari viimeisintä levyä on sen sijaan ollut melkoista itsensä toistamista ja saman kaavan runttaamista. Power of the Dragonflamella on vielä hetkensä, kuten March of the Swordmaster ja Knightrider of Doom (paras biisin nimi ikinä!! ), mutta Symphony of Enchanted Lands pt2 -levyä ei pelastanut edes näyttelijäguru Cristopher Lee.

Eniten Rhapsodyssa aina ärsyttää, että jokaista tuotosta mainostetaan jotenkin uudistuneena ja sisältö on kuitenkin sitä samaa tuttua huttua No, eihän se kai bändin vika ole. Markkinoijilla lienee näppinsä pelissä.

Luca Turillin ja Alex Staropolin lahjakkuutta säveltäjinä / muusikoina en silti käy kiistämään. Loppujen lopuksi laadukasta materiaalia herrat säveltävät kovalla tahdilla, vaikkakin Rhapsody on viime aikoina vähän hiipunut tasoltaan. Ainahan ainakin biisin nimet saavat suun vääntymään hymyyn. Voisi se Lucakin kuitenkin jättää of -genetiivin käytön vähän vähemmälle ja opetella pari muutakin adjektiivia kuin epic, mystic ja cosmic

Yksinkertaista - jos joku on jossain päin maailmaa ehtinyt rekisteröidä nimen Rhapsody itselleen, ja vaatii Italian poikia vaihtamaan nimensä oikeusjutulla uhaten, niin siinä ei paljoa jonkin spagetinpureskelijasankaribändin jäsenien huonolla englanninkielellä harrastettu kitinä paljoa auta.

Itse bändistä en perusta yhtään. Holy vitun Thunderforce-video tosin aikanaan jaksoi naurattaa ihan helvetisti.

Leone on kova vokalisti (ollaan italoaksentista mitä mieltä tahansa).

Hieno ääni on Fabiolla, mutta Tuskassa vuonna 2001 en kyllä tajunnut Mr. Lionen välispiikeistä puoliakaan vaikka kielikorvaani varsin terävänä pidänkin . Bändin tuotannon taso on kahden ensimmäisen levyn jälkeen ollut luokatonta, ja oli niitä kirottuja puheosuuksia lukemassa Dracula tai vaikka Persian shaahi , ei se niitä pelasta .

^ Pyh & höh. Kolmas albumi, mainio Dawn Of Victory on kepoisesti Rhapsodyn parhain Tuo hitusen verran 'rankennettu' kitaravetoisempi soundi oli juuri se määrittävin tekijä & puuttuva palanen. Sääli etteivät itse sitä ymmärtäneet, myöhemmin jatketusta 'vanhasta linjasta' päätellen..

The Last Winged Unicorn oli erityiseni huikea Tuskan enrorebiisinä! "Fly, FLY!!!"

Tsiigaa sitten tämä. Mielestäni joka suhteessa parempi! Videossa näkyy sitten tissit, joten alle 18-vuotiaat ei katso videota.

Kaikki teini-ikäiset pojathan jättävät aina kaiken katsomatta missä on mahdollista nähdä tissejä (Katsoin kyllä itsekkin, mutta ei tissienkään kanssa vedä vertoja Holy Thunderforcelle. Kyllä siinä riemu repeää kun sen videon näkee.)

Mulla kävi Fabiota sääliksi Tuskassa ku kaveri yritti saada yleisöä laulamaan Wisdom of the Kingsin kertosäettä ennen biisin aloittamista. Kaikki olis varmaan mielellään laulanut mukana, mutta kukaan ei tajunnut mitä biisiä siinä yritettiin aloittaa Oli meinaan sellaista sössötystä. Sit ku soitanta alko, kaikki tunnisti biisin ja kertsin tultaessa kaikki laulo täysillä mukana

The 4th Luca Turilli's solo album

Hi my friends,
I just came back from Wolfsburg where I ended the first part of the production for the second DREAMQUEST album (please check www.dreamquest.eu for more details).
During that time I had also the possibility to plan the production of my 4th solo album. I can already tell you that the next album will be the solo album I always dreamed of.
Olaf Hayer will be the absolute hero of the 4th release. I always thought his voice sounds very similiar to the one of Michael Kiske (please check our cover of 'I am Alive' if you have some doubts!). And I will never deny that thanks to Michael's voice and the two 'Keepers' from Helloween I started loving the melodic speed metal around 20 years ago.
And so here we come with my crazy vision... my next solo album will try to be the imaginery 'Keeper of the seven keys, part 3' that I would have liked to hear singed by Michael Kiske in 1990, a 'monumentum' to melodic speed/power metal with anthemic refrains and sing-a-long melodies.
But this is only a part of the whole plan. The new album will comprehend a giant orchestra too, a giant choir and a lot of very special guests for a complete cinematic approach. Just wait for it my friends, I am having so much fun composing it!
A great tour will follow the 4th solo album's release and me and Olaf will be then on all the stages worldwide to promote it in the best way. Stay tuned for more infos!
