Kuulostaa kyllä todella hyvältä. Itseltänikään ei vielä löydy yhtään Halfordin soololättyä, niin ne voisi kyllä sitten hankkia. Tuo traileri Rock In Riosta on muuten aika kovaa kamaa. Kannattaa katsoa.

Rock in Rio löytyy hyllystä bootsi-DVD:nä. Keikka on hyvä Halfordin äänen puolesta, mutta esiintyminen on vähän ankeaa. Halford kyhjöttää pääasiassa teleprompterin edessä. Muuten on hyvää settiä.

Tasan samaa mieltä. Tuo Halfordin könötys monitorin edessä häiritsee tässä vähintään yhtä paljon kuin Rising In The Eastilla. Halfordin ääni oli tuon Rock In Rion aikaan paremmassa kuosissa kuin nyt.

Onneksi Rob liikkuu RitE:lla huomattavasti enemmän kuin tuolloin, eikä lue kaikkia sanoja teleprompterista. Tuo RiR on malliesimerkki liikkumatta kyhjöttämisestä. Olisi muuten aivan loistava keikka. Kyllähän tuo DVD pitää tietysti ostaa.

Täysi vastakohta tuon RiR:n keikan eleettömyydelle on bootsi yhdeltä klubikeikalta, olikohan Albany. Laatu on vähän mitä on, mutta jumaleizzön, että Halford on iskussa. Ei ole mitään telepromptereita, ääni kulkee ja äijällä on innostusta ja virtaa.

Hyvältä näyttää, erityisesti odotan tuota Fight dvd:tä. Rock in Rio löytyy jo bootleggina ja hyvin pändi vetää, mutta aina jaksan ihmetellä miksi herra Rob on nykyään niin eleetön lavalla, tai paremmin sanottuna jotenkin väsyneen oloinen. Luulisi että biisienkin sanat olisi jo vuosien saatossa iskostunut mieleen, ja mieluummin näkisin enemmän liikettä lavalla vaikka sanat menisikin päin persettä. Mitä on noita kuvia nähnyt VH1 showsta niin Halford vaikuttaa ainakin kuvissa jotenkin poissaolevalta, ja hymyä ei näy ollenkaan. Ettei vaan ole käymässä kuten Freddie Mercurylle, huhujahan on aina ollut liikkeellä mutta ei kai sentää...

No eihän Rob nyt koskaan ole ollut mikään duracell-pupu lavalla. Aina se on ollut sellainen melkoisen hillitty persoona. Kattelee 70-luvun videoita (enkä nyt meinaa pelkästään mitään Rocka Rolla vaan esim. Exciter Japanista 1978) niin sielläkin se on ihan samanlaista mitä se on nykyään. Ja onhan Robilla myös jo ikääkin sen verran että jotkut biisit ei enään välttämättä mene niin ulkomuistista kuin voisi olettaa, ja se on ihan muutamassa bändissä ollutkin pelkän Priestin lisäksi. Diskografiaa piisaa. Vissiin tollaset Rion tapaiset keikat vaan on sellasia missä ei todellakaan tahdo mokata, etenkin kun lähetystä kattelee sen festariyleisön lisäksi muutama miljoona katsojaa lisää telkan kautta. Plus vielä radiokin. Kyllä se sanojen unohtaminen tollasessa paikassa on paljon nolompaa kuin niiden lukeminen melko huomaamattomasti monitorien välistä.

Rob on itse sanonut, että sillä on ongelmia muistinsa kanssa ja että nuoruuden huumeiden ja viinan vetäminen on tehnyt tehtävänsä. Ei muista enää biisien sanoja niin hyvin kuin ennen. Uudet on tietty hankamlampi muistaa. Halford on varmasti tarkoituksella muuttanut esiintymistyyliään, kun ikää on tullut. Ei sillä mitään AIDSia ole. Ja ei niissä vaatteissa hirveästi juoksennella. Painavat kuulema ihan helvetisti.

Tuo Fight:n DVD on pakkohankinta.

Kyllä toimii, jälleen, tämä Fightin War of Words. Into the Pit, Nailed to the Gun, Immortal Sin ja niin edelleen, kovia viisuja. Pari keskinkertaisempaakin on joukkoon eksynyt mutta eipä tunnu menoa suuremmin haittaavan.

Tähän topiciin en olekaan näköjään vastannut. Itseasiassa Halfordin soolotuotanto kolahtaa lähes yhtä kovaa kuin Brucen vastaava. Vielä ei ole levyjä hyllyssä, mutta tarkoituksena olisi joskus hankkia niin Crucible kuin Resurrectionkin.

Judas Priest ei ole tehnyt omaan makuuni kuin kaksi elämää suurempaa levyä, Painkillerin ja Defenders Of The Faithin (tarkoitan, että suurin osa muista bändin tuotoksista on minun makuuni epätasaisia/liian kevyitä). Molemmat Halfordin soolotuotokset nousisivat todella korkealle vertailtaessa JP:n tuotantoon. Resurrection varsinkin on pirun kova tekele. Crucible on joskus ollut myös lainassa ja ainakin muistikuvieni mukaan silläkin oli monta hyvää kappaletta. Aliarvostetulta tuntuu tuo Crucible, kun sitä harvemmin missään nostetaan esille. Live Insurrection on kova livetaltiointi, vaikka sen arvoa syö tieto siitä, että suoritusta on paranneltu aika merkittävästi levyä tehtäessä.

JUDAS PRIEST frontman Rob Halford has announced plans to post a monthly blog on his official web site and MySpace page. "I've got some pics and stories which I'll post later next month and I'm looking forward to sharing," he said.

On the subject of his current activities, Halford said, "I spent my recent break from the JUDAS PRIEST writing sessions looking in on the assembling of the forthcoming FIGHT and HALFORD music and film releases. They are f**kin' hot. You all have some great surprises in store."

As previously reported, Halford has laid out an ambitious release schedule for his new company called Metal God Entertainment (MGE). This year, Halford will reissue some of his non-JUDAS PRIEST material through MGE, starting with the HALFORD albums he made in 2000, 2001, and 2002, and he's also planning two DVDs and possibly some other music for next year. Halford told Launch he started MGE so that he could better control how things are released and promoted. "We really are very possessive of what we create, and we nurture it, obviously, from conception to its release," he said. "Most labels do an incredible job, and, and that's always been the case for me, but here's an opportunity now for me to look after things a little bit better, and give me a little bit more peace of mind in that area."

Besides working on MGE projects, Halford is in the midst of writing with JUDAS PRIEST. They're making a concept album about the 16-century prophet Nostradamus.

Perusturvallista Halfordia. Ei luonnollisesti mikään Priest-klassikkoihin verrattava vetäisy, mutta palvelee kyllä tarkoitustaan. Levyä odotellessa.

Takuuvarma rypistys tuo Forgotten Generation. Mielestäni parempi kuin edellisen Priest-levyn sinkkulohkaisu Revolution.

Harkintaan menee, jos vaikka ostaisin tuon tulevan Halford-levyn.

Ihan hyvältä kyllä kuulosti tuo uusi biisi, en ole Halfordin soolotuotantoon niin hirveästi tutustunutkaan, vaikka Priest onkin yksi kovimmista bändeistä minulle.

Eikö tuo biisi tule vanhana ylijäämänä olemaan toinen kahdesta kokoelman 'semipakollisesta' uudesta, ns. täkybiisistä? Näin muistelisin lukeneeni jostain. Olikohan jopa jonkin vain digitaalisena julkaistavan sellaisen, kun vanha-Rob niin iTunesia hehkutti siinä jutussa. Tuskin sentään, ei kai vielä ole kellään varaa jättää moiseen bittitulvan varaan jonkin (täytekappaleenkaan) julkaisua..
