Iced Earth varmistunut Sweden Rockiin. Siitä ei olis pitkä matka Suomen kamaralle. Sauna Open Air, anyone?

Toivossa on hyvä elää.

No pitää varmaan lopettaa unelmointi ennen kuin kuola valuu näppäimistölle asti.

Mulla on jotenkin sellainen kutina persiissä, että IE olisi Saunaan tulossa. :?

Iced Earth on yksi suosikeistani.

-Something Wicked This Way Comes CD
-Alive In Athens 3CD
-The Glorious Burden 2LP
-Horror Show CD

Noiden vähäisten levyjen perusteella sanoisin, että parasta kappalemateriaalia on SWTWC-levyllä. Alive on paras livetallenne mielestäni, koskaan.

Blabbermouth wrote:ICED EARTH Completes Work On New Single; More Album Details Revealed - Mar. 16, 2007

ICED EARTH mainman Jon Schaffer has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"I just wanted to give you an update of what's happening in ICED EARTH world.

"We just finished mixing and mastering the [new] single, which will be titled 'Overture of the Wicked' and should be released in late May or early June. The four songs that will be featured on this are as follows:

01. Ten Thousand Strong
02. Prophecy
03. Birth of the Wicked
04. The Coming Curse

"'Ten Thousand Strong' will be the song that we will be filming a video for in the following months, most likely in June right around the Sweden Rock festival.

"I'm very happy with the results of our efforts. We've been really working hard on delivering something special to you guys and this single is just a hint of things to come, and it's freakin' awesome.

"We will be finishing the rest of production for Part 1 over the course of the next few weeks, with plans to mix in the early part of May. The title of the full release is 'Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part 1)' and should be out in the late August/September time frame. The 'Framing Armageddon' tracklist will appear as follows:

01. Overture
02. Something Wicked (Part 1)
03. Invasion
04. Man's Motivation
05. The Setian Massacre
06. A Charge to Keep
07. Reflections
08. Ten Thousand Strong
09. Execution
10. Order of the Rose
11. The Clouding
12. Infiltrate and Assimilate
13. Retribution Through the Ages
14. Something Wicked (Part 2)
15. The Domino Decree
16. Framing Armageddon
17. When Stars Collide (Born is He)
18. The Awakening

"The working title of Part 2 is 'Revelation Abomination Something Wicked (Part 2)' and the tracklist is as follows:

01. The Sacred Flames
02. Behold the Wicked Child
03. Minions of the Watch
04. A Gift or a Curse
05. I Walk Among You
06. Harbinger of Fate
07. Ancient Rage of the High Priest
08. A Gathering Threat / Time Marches On
09. Sacrificial Kingdoms
10. Something Wicked (Part 3)
11. Divide Devour
12. Conspiracy / Pilgrimage In Guile
13. Come What May

"The final tracking and mixing for Part 2 will take place between the festivals and world tour and will have a targeted release in February/March of 2008.

"Due to family health issues, Bo Wallace will not be able to be involved with ICED EARTH. I played the bass guitar parts on the single and we will be bringing Dennis Hayes, who worked with Tim [Owens, vocals] on his BEYOND FEAR side project, in to play on parts of the remainder of the recording. He will be doing the live shows as well."

Paitsi Beyond Fear -projektissa, Dennis Hayes soitteli Ripperin kanssa jo ennen tämän Judas Priest seikkailuja, Wintersbanen Heart of A Killer -levyllä :).

Minusta. Alive In Athensilla on kyllä hienoa katsella miehen soittoa ja lavalla oloa. Kova jätkä!

^ Ja eihän se Steve tainut Horror Showlla paljoa soitella, asiasta on tässäkin topicissa puhuttu. Ja kyllähän sen kuulee levylläkin. Aika epä-DiGiorgiomaista soittoa. Toki esmes Draculan introssa kuulee nauhattoman basson.

Kun sattuu niin tapahtuu

Code: Select all

ICED EARTH mainman Jon Schaffer has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"I regret to inform you that Tim Mills [guitar] will not be able to continue working with the band. As you may know, Tim is the founder of Bare Knuckle Pickups and that is his main business. He's had recent employee problems and has now found that his main worker, his right-hand man as it were, is terminally ill with cancer. So, he will not be able to do the record and tours that we had planned on. I knew it was risky bringing someone in that had an established business, I know exactly how hard it can be to be involved in multiple businesses, but we both felt that we'd be able to pull it off. Of course him living in the U.K. and the band living in the States makes things more challenging as well, but these events were completely unforeseen. I really feel for him and his employee and wish them the best through this difficult time.

"I know this lineup situation has become a familiar issue with ICED EARTH but please realize that it will have little or no effect at all on our plans, recording, touring and otherwise. The core is solid, focused and ready to kick some serious ass.
As has been the case since the first ICED EARTH CD I have played every rhythm and lead, every clean and acoustic guitar track that you've heard, with exception of the solos, and I even did a few of those in the old days. This will not cause any delay of the recording or any shows to be canceled so don't worry about a thing, we're right on track as planned.

"Tim played the guitar solos on the re-recording of the 'Something Wicked' trilogy, that appears on the upcoming 'Overture of the Wicked' four-song single that's due to be released in early June. Unfortunately, this news just came up and he's really sorry, as am I, that he won't be able to continue on with us. Also, I think there is some confusion as to what 'Overture of the Wicked' consists of. First, the song 'Ten Thousand Strong' is the single track, and it will appear on 'Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part 1)', albeit a bit different than the single version. Second, the 'Something Wicked' trilogy that is comprised of the songs 'Prophecy', 'Birth of the Wicked', and 'The Coming Curse' has been completely rerecorded. From the ground up this is a more vicious and more atmospheric version of the epic piece. I played all of the guitar tracks with a baritone guitar and Brent [Smedley, drums] and I are locked up like a machine gun with the double kicks following many of the detailed picking patterns. This makes for a more intense- and wicked-sounding rhythm section. All of the vocals have been redone, obviously by Tim Owens, who did a masterful job at retaining the passion and honesty of the original, and still put his stamp on it and made it his own. We also put in some teaser atmospheric things that will give you a hint of things to come on Part 1. But just a hint... we don't want to spoil any surprises.

"For those of you that aren't familiar with the old version or the 'Something Wicked' story at all, you should check it out. The original trilogy is just an overview of the story that begins 12,000 years ago and leads us to modern day. You should look at the trilogy as an introduction to this whole epic. What is coming next in the two parts is a far more in depth look into this very tragic, heavy and apocalyptic sci-fi/fantasy story.

"I can't give anymore away at the moment, but keep checking the IE site for more updates.

"Further announcements will be made in regard to the guitar player spot in the very near future."

As previously reported, ICED EARTH wil support HEAVEN AND HELL on their U.K. tour in November. Also appearing on the bill are LAMB OF GOD.

Täällä kun tunnutaan IE:stä diggailevan, niin kuka ilmoittautuu halukkaaksi lunastamaan itselleen Alive In Anthens 3Cd:n boksin? Meikäläiseen ei sen kummemmin kolahtanut, halvalla lähtee.

Ja taas kenkuttaa tuon Heaven And Hellin lämppärin kanssa. Kyllä Machinen Meniä mieluusti katsoo, hyvä bändi, ei siinä mitään.
Mutta Kanadassa Megadeth, ja nyt Briteissä Iced Earth. Höh! :x

^^Kovin mukavaa katseltavaa tuokin IE:n kansi. Pitäis vielä ennen uusien albumien julkaisua hankkia se "alkuperäinen" Something Wicked..., jotta pääsisi tähän kehystarinaan sisälle. Ipelle siihen ylös, sieltä tulee 100% varmasti tykkiä tavaraa. Schafferin riffivarastostakin löytyy aina vähintääkin loistavaa settiä, heh.

^itse kehystarinaan ei varsinaisesti tarvita alkup. Something Wickediä, trilogiahan on uudella singlellä kokonaisuudessaan.

Pirun hienot kannet ovatkin. Laadukas linja pitää.

^Juu, tiedossa on kyllä levyn kovuus, joskus kaverilta lainattuna tuli melko paljon kuunneltua. Ja Alive in Athensilla olevat Something...-biisit kyllä potkivat persiille. Ja kyllä, Barlow on "THE voice of Iced Earth".
