Tuska Open Air Festival, Helsinki

Post by ozz3 »

Every year in the middle of july, there's a one weekend when nobody's going to fuck up with metalheads in streets of Hellsinki. I'm talking about Tuska Open Air Festival.

Beign held in a central park of Helsinki, Kaisaniemi Park, Tuska Festival brings together thousands of metalheads for a one weekend to celebrate the hevay metal. The Festival has been arranged for seven times now (three time sold-out) and it has grown to one of the biggest heavy metal festivals of the europe. Three stages and may after-party clubs make sure that every metalhead can listen non-stop heavy metal (from all genres) for whole weekend.

Tuska Festival also arrange's other concerts, they bringer Slayer, Slipknot & Mastodon for a concert and at december they arrange concert for Nightwish.

Maidens gigs are in 6.7. and 7.7., if you have the money, the time and the intrest you could be able to stay in Finland and visit Tuska. Tuska has always been in middle of july so it could be possible to anyone to arrange those flights...

You can find reviews of Tuska (in english) from:

Tuska means pain by the way

See you there, if possible!
Remember the metal and up the irons!

^Bruce did a gig there few years ago...and as far as I´ve been told, he liked it a lot. Man was drunk as hell but did a great job.

I would LOVE to see that.. I heard that DIO's performace last year was beyond awesome. Unless I win the lottery or something I will have ot take a pass.
I'm from the United States, but nobody's perfect.

Yeah, roster looks pretty good at the beginning. There is going to be many many bands more, but we hear more about them in later of spring.

Tuska has this tradition: no same bands in roster if they performed in Tuska last year. So i'm afraid that we're not going to see these bands in roster (there's not all of them, but...) :

Nasum
D.S.K.
Sonata Arctica
Impaled Nazarene
Ensiferum
Dark Funeral
In Flames
Machine Men
Drive
Dark Tranquillity
Turisas
Twilightning
Soilwork
Sinergy
Death Angel
Nightwish
Chaosbeed
Fear Factory
Dismember
Diablo
Dew Scented
Charon
Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus
Dio

For this year's Tuska, I would hope to see: Manowar, King Diamond, Black Sabbath, Opeth, Arch Enemy and Lordi. Ok, those are kind of wet dreams, but they could be reality this year.
