The only finnish bands i have heard of are Hanoi Rocks, Negative and Popeda.

I have a couple Hanoi Rocks albums, but that is it.

Well, Hanoi Rocks is great and Negative has some talent (my opinion), but how did Maiden fan from Chicago ended up to listen Popeda :D ? That would be nice to hear...

Here's the list of some Finnish Metal Bands that have sold some records outside Finland. I also mentioned their genre, their website and how many copies they have sold outside Finland. I agree. I've been a big fan since february and I think it really kicks ass! I have their new album, Scars & Wounds and it's great! This is true heavy metal.

They usually play Iron Maiden covers live and they are excellent covers!

And don´t forget the best finnish band: Trio Niskalaukaus! From lyrics you maybe can learn finnish and hear the sound, what the band calls as "jynkytys". If someone knows good translation to that word, let me know.

Hey guys!
Merry Xams and a Happy New Year to you all! :)
Just sitting around having a few drinks, waiting for the fireworks....

Tell me your opinions on Nightwish people....
They're touring here in Australia in a couple of weeks, and I'm wondering whether I should go see them or not.
Depending on how much money's left in the bank at the end of the holidays

Have a good one people, all the best to you and your loved ones in 2005.

Happy New Year to all rautaneito users! Next year is about to be great (Two nights in Hellsinki, hell yeah! )

About Nightwish. I just saw their show in Helsinki, and they totally rocked! The band played very tight (Marco Hietala is a great showman, I can tell you  ) and the vocalist Tarja Turunen made my skin shiver (if that's the right way to tell it). They had great lights and special effects too, but the music was the main thing. I totally recommend that you go see the show!

If you want to listen to their music before the show, go to their hompage Here and choose This section and enjoy the finest finnish heavy metal of all the time!

And just for fun, their setlist of Helsinki gig 26.12.2004:

Intro
Dark Chest Of Wonders
Planet Hell
Deep Silent Complete
The Phantom Of The Opera (No Maiden cover, sorry, it's their own song)
The Kinslayer
Sleeping Sun
Symphony Of Destruction (Megdeth cover, sung by Marco Hietala )
Bless The Child
Wishmaster
Ever Dream
Dead Boy's Poem
Slaying The Dreamer
Nemo
---------------------------------
Ghost Love Score
Walking In The Air (Ever seen the movie called Snowman?, then you know the deal 8))
Wish I Had An Angel

That is not their own song. It's a cover from Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical.
