I thought so too, but my wordbook gives to 'aliarvostaa' both meanings, 'underrate' and 'underestimate'. There's a little difference, but I think, that everyone got the point.

Errr...they don't. To underestimate is closer to a measurement, i.e "we have underestimated the power of the enemy", whereas "to underrate" is closer to not enough appreciate something.
Oh, so I'm totally confused now I have seen many websites using both expressions: "this is an underestimated band" and "this is an underrated band". So naturally I thought they both meant the same. I guess some of those sites are using the wrong expression then. But now I see the difference. Thanks for the specification.
Hmm... Finnish bands? Well, I listen mm. Children Of Bodom, Kotiteollisuus, Stratovarius, Agonizer and Sonata Arctica. But best of those is Children Of Bodom.
