No tästä bändistä täytyy sanoa että yks parhaista power metal pumpuista mitä on!
Siis mun musiikkimakuun mahtuu aika moni PM-yhtye, jota valtaväestö pitää paskana ja kliseisenä esim. Secret sphere. Ite omistan Tales from the emerald sword saga-kokoelman ja kyllä on mahtavaa musaa.

Kolmen levyn verran olen tutustunut tähän bändiin. Symphony Of Enchanted Lands osat 1 ja 2 ja Dawn Of Victory löytyvät tällä hetkellä.
Minä tykkään. Onhan se mahtipontista potenssiin sata, mutta jokin juttu siinä on, mikä viehättää. Aiemmin suurinpiirtein nauroin kyseiselle bändille, mutta kun on tullut kuunneltua enemmänkin, ei voi kuin diggailla.
Monia hyviä riffejä löytyy ja paljon tunnelmaa ja yhtyeen musiikista tulee jotenkin hyvälle tuulelle. Fabio Lionen lauluakin jaksaa kuunnella ja soittokin sujuu, niin mikäs siinä.
Dawn Of Victory on noista kolmesta tällä hetkellä paras. Varsinkin nimibiisi huimine kertosäkeineen on kerrassaan loistava.

Itse tykkään eniten Rhapsodyn tuotannossa yli 40 minuuttia kestävästä EP:stä nimeltään Rain of a Thousand Flames. Siinä on sitä jotain, pelkästään jo nimikko biisin lyriikat on silkkaa parhautta ja kokonaisuutena levy on varsin pätevä. Rhapsody on yksi parhaista power-metal pändeistä maan päällä.

Kovan morkkaamisen jälkeen tuli kuunneltua paria kappaletta ja tajusin, että mitkä fiiliksekset kappaleisiin on saatu upotettua. Eka kappale oli Dawn Of Victory.
Sitten ostin levyn Symphony of Enchanted Lands II: The Dark Secret. Kuuntelin sen pimeäsää kuulokkeilla ja.....tunne oli sanoin kuvaamaton, aivan mieletön fiilis. Levyn helmi on Sacred Power of Raging Winds. Pituudestaan huolimatta kyseessä on sellainen eepos, että huhhuh. Ei yhtään tylsää kohtaa ja mieletön fiilis koko ajan. Leen ääni on mukavaa kuunneltavaa ja tulee ihan Saruman fiilikset. Turillilta tulee mahtavaa kepitystä ja soolot ovat herkkua korville. Turillin kirjoittamat tarinatkin alkavat kuulostaa hyvältä, kun niihin tutustuu.
Sitten ostin levyn Symphony of Enchanted Lands II: The Dark Secret kuuntelin sen illalla kuulokkeilla, oikein kaksi kertaa putkeen. Ei meinaa sängyssä pysyä, kun fiilikset ovat korkealla katossa. Son Of Pain hakkaa kyllä kaikki Manowar balladit mennentullen. Mikä voisi olla parempaa kun Mystic Prophecy of the Demonknightin kertsi.Kappale on 16 minuuttia parhautta. Strapoli ja Turilli ovat kyllä jonkin sortin neroja.
Fabion ääni on kyllä mielestäni yksi parhaista äänistä maan päällä, niin kirkas ja puhdas.Jotkut valittavat aksentista, mutta en kyllä sitä huomaa. Jos se aksentti nyt sitten paistaa läpi, niin se tuo vaan oman mausteen.
Kahden uusimman levyn massiiviset orkesterit ja kuorot tuovat levyihin semmoisen tunnelman ja mahtipontisuuden, että sellaista on vaikea tavoitella.
Suunnitelmissa olisi hankkia kaikki muut levyt, mutta se kysyy rahaa.

Jonkun verran olen kuunnellut, mutta ei oikein iske. Toki on muutamia biisejä jotka uppoavat, mutta siihen se sitten jääkin. Ei vaan ole meikäläisen musaa.

Nyt tuli hankittua bändin eka levy Legendary Tales. Kyllä huomaa bändin ilmeen muuttuneen varsinkin soundejen puolesta, vaikka kyllähän niitä samoja kikkoja bongaa uusimmiltakin levyiltä. Soolot on hiton kovia, paljon parempia kun Triumph Or Agonylla. Tavara on helkkarin laadukasta vaikka orkesterit on tehty melkein kokonaan syntikalla. Yksi kovimmista kappaleista oli Land Of Immortals, siinä vasta kappale jossa on fiilistä ja toinen samaan kastiin: Rage Of Winter. On kelpo levy, että suosittelen.

Kyllähän bändi tekee kovaa musiikkia. Ei kuitenkaans ihan joka päivä jaksa tuntitolkulla kuunnella. Omistaako kukaan muuten Power of the dragonflame levystä 5000 kappaleen supertuplakuvavinyyliä, jossa on bonustrack ja juliste. Löysin kyseisen version levystä Anttilasta hintaan 5e. Siellä oli niitä enmmänkin! Se onkin ainoa levy jonka omistan ja on hemmetin hyvä!

Tulipa Kajaaniin (& back) autoillessa kuunneltua 12 v. takainen klassikko Legendary Tales pitkästä aikaa aamulla, vaikkei suosikkini heiltä olekaan. Monella kaverilla (yllättävänkin, mites se jo Rovaniemella tuollainen suksee) tämä oli, mutta paria biisiä lukuunottamatta en jotenkin tämän orgaanisempaan tuotantoon niin kiintynyt kuin vasta Dawn Of Victoryn parhauteen 2000.

Ne väliinjääneen SOTEL:in ässimmät hititkin uupuvat, mutta onhan tämä vahvahko kokonaisuus. Ja kaukana kahden viimeisen Rhapsodyn biisittömästä pöhötaudista, mieluummin sitä aina kasakkakuoroa ja muutamaa jousisoitinta kuuntelee ideaa sisältävien kappaleiden kanssa (Lord Of The Thunder -aina ollut levyn paras!, Echoes Of Tragedy, Rage Of Winter, Land Of Immortals).

All the drama of this new part of the saga will be as always enchanted by the soundtrack oriented orchestral arrangements and the majesty of opera choirs, real trademark of Rhapsody of Fire’s music, but surely this album will sound more powerful, speed and guitar oriented than in the recent past, in order to underline the dark and romantic rage of the lyrics too.

Every song will have its own character, as you will be able to fly with the angels of the crystal realms through the cold skies of the north on the notes of hit-songs like ‘SEA OF FATE’ (song written for the first time together by Luca Turilli, Alex Staropoli and Fabio Lione), ‘RAGING STARFIRE’ or ‘THE FROZEN TEARS OF ANGELS’, and at the same time you will have a taste of the angels’ holy rage listening to ‘REIGN OF TERROR’, real gem of this new production.

Tuoltahan voi kuunnella uuden Rhapsody (Of Fire, tuntuu edelleen turhalta tuo lisäys) -kappaleen Sea Of Fate. Nimi kuulostaa tutulta ja niin itse asiassa biisikin, mutta kuitenkin paljon eläväisemmältä kuin parin edellisen tylsimmät hetket; joita oli turhan paljon.

Italian symphonic metal masters RHAPSODY OF FIRE will release their new album, "The Frozen Tears Of Angels", on April 30, 2010 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD was produced by Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli and it was mixed and mastered by Sascha Paeth at the Gate Studio (AVANTASIA, EPICA) in Wolfsburg, Germany. Kyllä kuulostaa taas mahtipontiselta! Mixaus on muuten huomattavasti parempi kun näillä kahdella edellisellä Magic Circle sinfonia levyillä, basso kuuluu, kitarat rymisevät ja fabion ääni on paljon enemmän edessä. (Ja tämähän on vasta crappy mp3) Myöskin kansi on kivaa vaihtelua kun Triumph Or Agonylla alkoi jo lohikäärme ja D&D taiteilija per levy kaava tuntumaan tylsältä. Sama ukkohan joka teki tämän uuden on tehnyt Blazen 2 uusinta levyä (samanlaisuuksia esim. sumuisen sinisen käytössä aika mukavasti) mutta kovalla innolla odotan uutta levyä!

Onpas mennyt ihan ohitse että Rhapsodyltakin uutta matskua, kyllähän se vaan kelpaa. Tuskin tulee uutta Dawn Of Victorya mutta varmasti taattua laatua silti. Pitääpä laittaa tilaukseen samantien.

Kuulostaa mielestäni helvetin hyvältä tuo Sea Of Fate. Useita levyjä kuulleena veikkaisin, että tämän levyn hehkutus ei ole aivan turhaa. Tosiaan varsinkin Symphony Of Enchanted Land part II:lla bändi hukkuu orkesterin alle. Nuclear Blastin kaupassa oli myynnissä myös jotain Boxi-versiota, mitäköhän mahtaa sisältää? Mutta innolla odotan ja ostan levyn varmasti.

Hienoa?, että bändi on taas aktivoitunut. Luin äsken kommenttini 5! vuoden takaa, eipä siihen ole paljoa lisättävää, tilanne on levyjen suhteen edelleen sama. Muutin topicin nimen tämän päivän tilanteen mukaiseksi, vaikka itselleni, kuten ilmeisesti useimmalle muullekin, bändi on ikuisesti oleva pelkkä Rhapsody.

Rhapsodyn parhaasta levystä on ihan turha edes keskustella. Sehän on Dawn of Victory. Raskaammat biisit, kovimmat riffit, hyvä skittasoundi, Holy Thunderforce, Fabio Lionen ääni on vähiten homahtava koko tuotannosta ja sitten tietty tasainen kappalemateriaali, josta ei intron ja Trolls in the Darkin lisäksi löydy yhtään huonoa biisiä.
