Jahas. Vai niin. Tässä vielä bändin omin sanoin:

”Legendary Seattle progressive hard rockers Queensrÿche are rescheduling some of their upcoming European shows next month. The postponement of these dates is caused by changes in the bands promotional schedule brought upon by their new label, Century Media Records, in order to meet the demands of their upcoming June 11th worldwide release date.”

Euroopan kiertueen peruminen kahden viikon varoajalla on kyllä erinomainen ratkaisu, kyllä nyt uutta levyä tulee liikkumaan kaupoista ihan eri tahtiin!

Helvetin kuustoista, olin tietysti jo ehtinyt hommata lipun Jalometalliin, ja sitä tuskin saakaan palautettua lippupisteeseen, koska kyseessä on festivaali. Pitää kyllä olla melkoisen kova nimi tuuraamassa, että vaivaudun Ouluun varta vasten menemään... Huonoa bisnestä kylläkin, olisivat nyt ajoissa neuvotelleet levy-yhtiön kanssa, niin olisi vältytty turhilta päällekäinbuukkauksilta.

Korvaava keikka onkin 25.10. Oulun Teatrialla: http://www.anybodylistening.net/breakdo ... pic=3979.0 Saapa nähdä, tossa on aika väljää, joten jos bändiä ei nyt sido "ainoa keikka Suomessa" -sopimuslauseke, niin tulisikohan toinen mahdollinen keikka etelämmäs?

EDIT: Ja Redemptionista: On kyllä hyvä biisi. Ei ihan tajuntaaräjäyttävä, mutta jos näyttää yhtään suuntaa levyn muuta materiaalia ja saundeja kohtaan, niin helvetin lupaavalta kuulostaa. Saundit tosin särkee todella pahasti tuossa youtube-versiossa, joten pakko antaa viimeinen tuomio sitten 10.6.

Öh, siis bändi kuitenkin on Euroopassa ja soittaa to-pe yön Sweden Rock -risteilyllä sekä sunnuntain PPM-festareilla mutta lauantai Teatrialla ei sitten onnistukaan?

Onneks en ollut vielä(kään) tilannut lippuja Oulun keikalle, lokakuussa on sitten muutenkin paremmin aikaa ajella tonne. Ei oikeestaan kyrsi kauheesti, luulenpa että syksyllä settilistassakin on uusia biisejä kehissä ja voihan se olla että bändi vetää sit n. kahden tunnin setinkin, who knows.

Ei vittu mitä paskaa siihenkö meni harvinaisen hyvä kattaus ja iltama? Ei riittänyt että tuo uusi biisi oli tylsä. Century Media boikottiin!

On kyllä päällimmäisenä sellainen "Vittu mitä paskaa" + "Pitäkää tunkkinne" -kombo mielessä. Onhan se kiva että saa levyn ulos joskus kesällä, mutta onhan tuo nyt aivan jäätävää skeidaa alkaa perua keikkoja tuollaisen takia. Olisivat miettineet ennemmin, vai ahdistaako niin saatanasti se, että Tate mouhoaa Ameriikan mantereella tekemässä tolkuttoman menestyksekästä kiertuetta?

Jaa-a, saa nähdä huvittaako tuo 25.10 sitten lainkaan. Nyt saadaan jotain paskaa Springbreakiin. Pistän rahani Tarotiin, mutta saan kuitenkin Amorphis, Mokoma + Stam1na -kombon.

Deadline Music/Cleopatra has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the reports that "Frequency Unknown", the new album from the Geoff Tate-fronted version of QUEENSRŸCHE, was being remixed by acclaimed musician, record producer and engineer Billy Sherwood:

"Since previews of the new QUEENSRŸCHE album were made available to the general public on iTunes and other digital retailers, some of the response has been less than positive. Some complained about the overall quality of the recordings, and in particular the mix. We here at Deadline Music have the utmost confidence in the powerful songwriting and outstanding performances from Geoff Tate and crew on this album, but we also want the fans to know that we are listening to them as well! So, in the interest of democratic free choice, Deadline Music has commissioned the superbly talented musician/producer Billy Sherwood (formerly of YES) to remix the album. Now fans will be able to decide which mix they feel best represents the album: the original mix, which will be released on April 23rd, or the new mix by Billy Sherwood that will be made available at a future date to be announced…. WE REMIX, YOU DECIDE!"

Sherwood revealed in a posting on his Facebook page on Monday that he was hired to remix "Frequency Unknown". Sherwood wrote: "[It] seems there are sonic issues with the previous versions and so I shall be fixing it for all to enjoy. starting on it [Wednesday] morning [March 27]."

^ Eipä vaikuta olevan biisi mistään kotoisin, tylsää junttaa tympeillä radiorock-vokaaleilla höystettynä. En ole noita uudempia Queensrÿchejä kuunnellut, mutta eihän tällä ole oikeasti mitään yhtymäkohtia Taten tunnistettavan äänenvärin lisäksi bändin tuotoksiin. Tusinatavaraa.

Ei tuo nyt mitään ihan ripulikakkaa ollut, mutta aika unohdettava biisi kaiken kaikkiansa. Ainakin tässä biisissä oli jotain ryhtiä verrattuna moniin QR:n biiseihin viimeisen 15 vuoden aikana.

Kyllä tämä Taten nykytouhu käy ihan komediasarjasta.

Geoff is Da Boss. Kelly yritti selän takaa hiipiä maestron tonteille, pikku kädenliikkeellä Kelly hiipi takaisin ja maestro jatkoi. Saanen sanoa, että maestro veti ihan nuotin vierestä suurimman osan biisiä ja sovitus oli aivan kauhea, kyllä sieltä biisin tunnisti, mutta vain hädin tuskin. Mua häiritsee herran nykytyylissä nuo homahtavat kädenliikkeet ja elehdintä, kyllä se semmonen balleriina on, ettei paremmasta väliä.

Loistohomma, että Taten Queensrÿche jatkaa takuuvarmaa repeilykaman tuottamista Taten tylytykset Kelly Grayn suuntaan ovat kultaa, ja Bennett todistaa omaavansa keyboardistien piirissä kovimmat movet heti Warren Scottin jälkeen. Rudy Sarzo imee sormiaan joka toinen sekunti ja taustalaulut imee muuten vaan 100%. Mitä muuta? Rummuista ei oikein voi sanoa mitään, joku ekspertti sanoi että ne kuulostavat humpalta Rockenfeldiin verrattuna, mutta itse en ole ikinä osannut sanoa rumpujen laadukkuudesta mitään.

Accidentally sitting on your balls, Sarah Silverman’s jokes, the New York Jets, sitting on a toilet seat covered in pee, jacking off to the winter clothing section of a JC Penney catalog, baseball double-headers, William Hung, pink eye, Blaze Bailey singing “The Trooper,” broccoli (fucking disgusting), dipping buffalo wings in ranch dressing, using a dental dam, Internet Explorer, waking up and finding your dog is dead, Ted Nugent’s political views, Sharon Osbourne naked, smelling Zakk Wylde’s beard, John Cena, owning every season of “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica,” and whiskey dick.

Huutonaurua vedin jo tuohon, mutta minusta tämä arvostelijan kommentti kiteyttää erinomaisen hyvin sen, mistä on kysymys. Olkoon sitten pikku pilke silmäkulmassa, mutta kyllähän tuon paskan kuulemisen jälkeen voi sanoa vain:

Just fucking give up, dude. Go play the style of music you want to. Lose 25 lbs, stop smoking, and take some vocal lessons. If you want to keep smoking, at least hit up Ray Alder and ask him how he keeps his voice in shape. Putting this album out and trying to make it heavy isn’t what you needed to try to do to stick it to your former band members. You should have strengthened your voice and made a conscious effort to put out a good album instead of a cash grab. You went for the money. Go fuck yourself for trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of some oblivious fans. Oh, and shame on you, Rudy Sarzo. You’re better than this.

"Frequency Unknown" was released on April 23. The CD was produced by Jason Slater at a studio in Northern California. The first single from the effort, "Cold", can be streamed below. The track, which was mixed by Anthony Focx (NEWSTED, AEROSMITH, NIGHT RANGER, TED NUGENT), will also be released as a special limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single with a newly recorded version of the QUEENSRŸCHE classic "Silent Lucidity" — mixed by Jürgen Engler (DORO, DIE KRUPPS) — on the B-side.

Asked about the decision to remix "Frequency Unknown" shortly before the album's release, Tate told "The Continental Breakfast With James & Raina": "We were a little rushed on the mixing end of it, so after listening to it back, we're having some of the songs remixed now before the album comes out. But that's typical with records — you have to have them in on time. So sometimes you compromise in areas. Luckily, with this situation, we get to go back and correct some areas in the sound where we thought it was kind of lacking. So that's fine. I've done that on… gosh… probably three quarters of the records I've ever made. It's no new thing, but it's a luxury when you get to fix it."
