Haluisin tietää mitkä on mielestänne Maidenin sanoitukseltaan parhaita biisejä tai jotain hyviä lausahduksia/fraaseja jostain kappaleesta joita on jääny mieleen. Esim.

Sanoitukseltaan paras biisi on ehdottomasti Infinite Dreams ja erityisesti kohta:

Itsellä myös erityinen "suhde" Infite Dreams:iin...Ne sanat uppoo kuin se sinne! Tulipa joskus taannoin jopa yo-kirjoitusten englannin aineouudessa käytettyä tuosta biisistä napattua kohtaa...

Toinen biisi, jossa sanat ovat rautaa, niin The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner.... Voi sitä juoksija-raukkaa...!

Ja onhan niitä paljon muitakin!

Maiden on sanoitusten osalta todella niitä diggaavien helmi bändi!

Jep, ja varsinkin kun usein biisien sanat ovat kirjoista ja elokuvista tai käsittelevät tärkeitä aiheita.

Lord Of The Flies. Koko biisin sanoitus on suorastaan täydellinen. Mutta etenkin tämä kohta on oma henk.koht suosikkini:

Maidenin parhaimmistoa ehdottomasti. Etenkin kirjan lukeneena voi sanoa että paremmin ei voisi sanoituksia tehdä.

X-Factorilta löytyy muutenkin Maidenin parhaimmistoon kuuluvat lyriikat.

Myös Charlottessa on aika legendaariset.

The Longest Day, ehdottomasti! Sanoitukset luovat täydellisen tunnelman biisiin ja ompa koko biisi sanoitusten osalta täyttä juhlaa. Ilman niin hyviä sanoituksia ei The Longest Dayssa olisi niin paljoa tunnelmaa.

On muuten aika karu kohta Brighter than a thousand suns:ssa:

Parhautta

Revelations on melkoista priimaa. Tekisi mieli perustella, mutta en oikein osaa.

Uudelta levyltä The Longest Day on mainio.

Parhaimmista sanoituksista puhuttaessa Revelations on ehdoton ykkönen. Muita hyviä sanoituksia löytyy ainakin Infinite Dreamsista, Sign Of The Crossista ja Paschendalesta. Uusimmalta levyltä vosi vielä mainita Brighter Than A Thousand Sunsin ja The Longest Dayn lyriikat. Brucen kirjoituskynä ollut uusimalla loistavassa terässä.

Noh, kuis näin? Mielestäni kyseinen kohta heittää ilmoille mielenkiintoisen ajatuksen kristinuskosta ja sen perusajatuksesta "jeppe kuoli syntiesi tähden". Miksi haikailla moisen perään, jos kristillisiä syntejään ei tunnusta?

Kun nyt sitten asiaa ajattelin, niin tuskinpa tuossa mitään jeesustelua sen paremmin on. Siinä vaan on oikeastaan tuon fiktiiviseen tarinaan perustuvan uskonnon perusajatus aika hyvin tiivistettynä ja kaunis ajatus se onkin, kunhan vain olisi mahdollinen.
Veikkaan, että Harris noilla sanoilla juurikin kritisoi sitä, että tuon hyvää asiaa ajavan tarinan vuoksi tapahtuu niin paljon kauheita koko ajan.

Täsmälleen. Tuo "It wasn't meant for us to feel the pain again" on se avainkohta koko jutussa. Senhän voi tulkita sarkasmiksi, että "ihmiset joutuvat kärsimään edelleen, vaikka uskonnon ajatus olisi, ettei jouduttaisi enää kärsimään". Eivätpä toteudu nuo uskontojen ideat käytännössä hetkeäkään, joten: no support!

Molemmat loistavia sanoituksia.

^ Ehdottoman samaa mieltä, varsinkin Sign Of The Cross on sellaista sanomajuhlaa että ei ole vertaista. Juurikin mainitsemasi säkeistö aiheutti välittömästi kylmänväreet, äärimmäistä parhautta!

Tämä on kyllä äärettömän hieno. Lisäksi nostaisin esille Hallowed Be Thy Namen lyriikat, jotka ovat myös loistavat.
