^Joltain arvailulta tuo vaikuttaa, ja tuskin pitää paikkansa ainakaan tuo toukokuun loppu, sillä en millään usko, että maiden heittäisi keikan neljänä peräkkäisenä päivänä.

Reykjavik Laugadallshollin Iceland 1992.06.05 First time on Iceland

Tuo Egilshöllin on n. 18,000 ihmistä vetävä areena. Metallica sai sen kunnian olla ensimmäinen esiintyjä tuolla areenalla viime kesänä. Aivan uusi areena kyseessä siis.

Aika hauskasti sanottu, kun toteavat, että Maidenhan oli JO Readingissa vuosina 1980 ja 1982, mutta että omaavat tänä päivänä edelleen huomattavan vetovoiman mitä tulee live-yleisöön. Niin, eihän siitä ole kuin 23 vuotta ja freesinä ovat pysyneet. Kauan se meni New Musical Expressiltäkin huomata, tosin sehän on sellainen hihhuli-julkaisu että sinänsä en ihmettele.

Tykkäsivät vaan vähätellä Maidenia ja sen tekemisiä reilun vuosikymmenen, aina kun bändi täräytti levyn tai sinkun listoille, joutuivat pitkin hampain muutaman sanan/rivin kirjoittamaan. Nyt jo mainitaan vetovoimaiseksi livebändiksi iästä huolimatta ja että vielä massiivinen Euroopankiertuekin. On se kiva nähdä, kuinka ärsyttävimmätkin dissaajat joutuvat taipumaan.

According to RTE.ie, IRON MAIDEN are to play a major concert in Dublin, Ireland this summer.

They will play the RDS Arena on August 31 with special guest MARILYN MANSON.

Joo, siis on se varmaan tuon legin viimeinen. Mutta silloin alussa siitä sai sen kuvan että todella vähän (n.20) keikkaa Euroopassa ja tuohon Göteborgiin loppuu kokonaan. Nyt tuli nuo lisäksi ja luultavasti jenkkeihin vielä...

Pienessä mielessä tein jo laskelmia, että sopisi kyllä aika hyvin kalenteriin tuo Dublinin keikka... Toukokuun lopussa Prahassa, sitten heinäkuussa Suomessa ja elokuun lopussa Irlannissa. Rahaa ei tietenkään ole, eikä mukuloille hoitopaikkaa, että se siitä, mutta kai sitä aina haaveilla saa. Tuossa olisi vaan aika sopiva tahti. Ei muuta kuin tuplalottoa vaan tästä eteen päin joka lauantai. Jos voitto kolahtaa otan sata kaveria täältä mukaan

. Eihän sellainen reissu sadalle hengelle olisi kuin 50 k€...

Näyttää siltä että Maiden on tosiaan yksi Ozzfestin tämän vuoden headlinereistä. USA:ssa on alkanut jo radiomainonta ja Maiden on mainittu.

Also debuting on the tour will be Texas-based band A Dozen Furies who landed their coveted Hot Topic Second Stage slot after winning OZZY and SHARON’s MTV “Battle For Ozzfest” reality series competition. Debuting last fall and lasting right up until the February launch of the fourth and final season of the Emmy-award winning “The Osbournes,” “Battle For Ozzfest” is the ultimate battle of the bands, with contestants having survived 2004’s grueling OZZFEST challenges.

This year, a limited number of fans who purchase OZZY OSBOURNE's first-ever 51-song, four-CD retrospective box set PRINCE OF DARKNESS (out March 22 of Epic Records) will be able to obtain one free Ozzfest ticket. The initial pressing of the box set will feature a precedent-setting promotion allowing fans to buy one OZZFEST general admission ticket and get one free.

OZZFEST, originally launched in 1996 as a limited two-city trek, has become a virtual breeding ground for up-and-coming bands. The renowned second stage has been instrumental in catapulting the careers of System of a Down, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, Slipknot, Disturbed, Godsmack and Chevelle. Jo on mahtava tuo lista jotka Ozzfest on nostanut suurempaan suosioon. Herranjumala mitä ripulipaskabändejä. Viimevuotinen ja ensi kesän line up on sentään jo aika metal, jopa ne pakolliset amerikkalaisnuorisolle suunnatut "paskat" bändit ovat sentään siedettäviä (Shadows Fall), varsinaista hyppyytysheviä ei näytä olevan lainkaan, tosin kaikkia kakkoslavan yhtyeitä en tiedä. Saa nähdä miten Maidenin nihkeä suhtautuminen Yhdysvaltoihin ja Dance Of Deathin heikohko myynti näkyy. Huomionarvoista on se että Bruce vahvistaa että keikoilla soitetaan vain ja ainoastaan neljän ekan levyn biisejä joten luulisi houkuttelevan vanhat parrat paikalle.
