On October 11th, Iron Maiden fans the world over will have something new to get excited about as the newly re-launched Restless Records releases Numbers From The Beast: An All Star Salute to Iron Maiden, a tribute to the legendary band. The album, which features Maiden's own Paul Di'Anno and marks Restless return to its metal and punk roots, is Produced by Grammy Award winner and tribute album pioneer Bob Kulick (KISS, Metallica, Aerosmith) along with Brett Chassen and features appearances from current or former members of Iron Maiden, KISS, AC/DC, Mot0rhead, Anthrax, Dio, Judas Priest, Testament, Twisted Sister, Extreme, Whitesnake, Slaughter, Helmet, Dokken and many others.

Jee! Yhtäkään Maiden-tribuuttia en omista, mutta tuo menee kyllä hankintaan jo pelkästään sen takia, että Lemmy vetää Trooperin.

Ja eipä sillä, kyllä tuo soittajaosasto on aikalailla kohdallaan muutenkin. Melkoinen kunnianosoitus.

Pelkästään Lemmyn laulama Trooper saa minut ryntäämään levykauppaan tämän tribuutin jahdissa ilmestymispäivän tienoilla

Kovia nimiä tuossa on toki muitakin, Bushin laulama The Wickerman kuulostaa taatusti loistavalta.

Heh, postasin tästä jutun eilennä tuonne parhaat coverit -topiciin ja nyt keskustelu onkin jo valmiiksi täällä raiskaustopicissa. Hyvä, että jengiltä löytyy luottoa

. Henkilökohtaisesti vaan pelottaa, että tämä on taas näitä paperilla kovia allstar-tribuutteja, mutta lopputulos on karmeaa kurakaarta. Poikkeuksena saattavat kuitenkin olla herrojen Kilmister, Bello, Bush, Ian, Billy, Owens, Bain, Tempesta ja Skolnick panokset.

Ja onhan se mukava kuulla, lähteekö Di'Annolta vielä Wrathchild.

Tuollasia pitäis tribuuttien olla, ei mitään paskasia autotallipunkbändejä raiskaamassa hienoja biisejä, vaan kunnon muusikot.

Aika samoilla linjoilla liikutaan täälläkin päässä. Aikasemmin en ole hirveästi noille tribuutti kokoelmille lämmennyt, mutta tuossa on niin nimivahva paketti ollut vääntämässä matskua, että melkeinpä pakko hankkia tuo. Lemmy vetämässä trooperia täytyy olla legenda, vaikka siitä en ole vielä sekuntiakaan kuullut.

Tähän väliin yksi kysymys, onko Children of Bodom siis tehnyt mitään The Trooper-coveria? Tämä ei ole ihan täysin itelle vielä ratkennut kun puhutaan jostain uudelleennimeämisistä sun muusta shitistä.

Former AC/DC drummers Simon Wright and Chris Slade both feature on the new IRON MAIDEN tribute CD, Numbers Of The Beast by Restless Records (REST73798).

Simon Wright is featured on the track 'Flight Of The Icarus' which also features Ripper Owens (ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH), Doug Aldrich (WHITESNAKE, DIO), Jimmy Bain (Dio, RAINBOW).

Chris Slade appears on two tracks, '2 Minutes To Midnight' and 'The Trooper'.

Tuota esiintyjälistaa kun katsoo, niin tulee väistämättä mieleen vuonna 2000 julkaistu Ozzy-tribuutti "Bat head soup", jossa on hyvin pitkälle samoja hemmoja mukana.
Siltäkin löytyy Lemmyä, Dee Snideria, Owenia, Turneria jne.

Sekin taisi olla ton Bob (Brucen veli) Kulickin tuottama. Tiedotteessakin sanotaan, notta veteraani tribuuttituottaja.
Onkos kellään muulla kyseistä Ozzy -kunnianosoitusta? Mä en ollut koskaan kuullutkaan moisesta, kunnes tuli divarissa vastaan.

Olen kuullut sen kyllä, ihan Ok kamaa. Alice Cooperista taitaa olla saman tuottajan tribuutti, jossa myös paljon samoja nimiä esiintymässä.

musta cradle of filthin fear of the dark on laululla raiskattu.. Siin ei oo mitään intoo ku ne vaan rääkyy koko kappaleen mut kyl filth on ihan hyvä bändi.
